CORE T UGHT freshmen students who were not on reading grade level. This was the first year the program was limited to just freshmen students. Classes were small so teachers could work individually with each of their students. In the afternoon, the teachers were available for specialized tutoring. They enjoyed books like FOREST FIRE and MILLION DOLLAR HUNT, yet they learned how to read warantees, job applications and contracts. lVlr. Hedgecock's class was the geographical center of the campus.
