The Lancers fired it up in the practice season by winning 6 out of 7 games. But, when the league season started, they ran up against stiff competition. The first league game was dropped to Castro Valley 51-41, the second to San Leandro by an even more convincing score of 42-20. In the third game, against San Lorenzo, the Lancers were determined to win the first home league game. lt went into an overtime period on two free throws by Ken Moulton.
