SENIOR CLASS OFFICERS Through the high school years, we have been represented by our class officers who have worked together to make our class the best. The choosing of class rings, selling of candy, and dances were some of the iobs these four people took on. The senior year is the busiest for the class officers who have to begin making arrangements for the Class Play and the Senior Prom. The total co-operation of the class made the play and the prom two of the most unforgettable events for everyone involved. The Senior Class officers' iob will never be completed as they will always be making plans for the Class of '75 reunions, when we will all meet after years of growth and noticeable changes within each of us. X ULAX I st Attendant Queen 2nd Attendant Elaine Foderaro Susan Lemoine Mary Jane Mansor 1975 Class Historg bu Joseph Gurka Robert Townsend Well Joe, this is it. Our high school career has ended after three years at Tenney. Doesn't it seem like we iust started our Sophomore year? Remember back in Sept. of '72 when we first entered this place? No! You mean you don't remember any thing that has happened in our three years here? No, tell me how it all began. Well, first the earth was a swirling mass of volcanic lava, then it cooled. Two tiny amoebae formed in a tiny pool, the start of life. No, No, not that far back. How about starting in our Sophomore year of high school? Oh, oh, okay. Well we left the Junior High and had our summer vacation. And just like every year we reached that first week in September when we entered a whole new school. We really got pushed around by the upper classmen, but we had our class officers to lead the way. Yeah, they were - Sue Lupo, Pres., Elaine Foderaro, V.P., Bev Chontoian, Sec., Linda Bohondoney, Treas. Student council was also there to help. There were Mary Jane Mansor, Gayle Matthew, Paula Bell, Mark Concherri, Jeff Lerned, Steve Hynes. Bob, weren't you the treasurer? Didn't Student Council present the free fair concert in the Spring? Yeah, we also had the Powder Puff Game. That year the Sophomores and Juniors beat the seniors, I8-6. Some other sports teams had a good year. The football team was 5-4. Girls' basketball was 8-4. And girls' fiel- dhockey was 3-3-3. The Honor Society inducted I2 Sophomores. They were Ann Dore, Betty Hertrich, Carol Drouin, Kathy Winn, Sue Bonenfant, Joe Grassello, Debbie DeRosa, Carolyn Sanford, Kim Borderi, Sandra Hering, John Car- telli and Mark Derosiers. Then we went on vacation again and returned on Sept. 7. The junior class officers were elected at the end of our sophomore year and they were Pres. John Kiessling, V.P. Elaine Foreraro, Sec. Bev Chont- oian and Treas. Sue Lemome. There was also the student council. They were Jeff Lerned, Steve Hynes, Mark Conch- eri, Bob Townsend, Paula Bell, Gayle Matthes and Mary Jane Mansor. We had another concert. This time it was First Gear. We had our first night rally for the football team. That was right around the time we had the Sadie Hawkins Dance. Yeah, November to be exact. That was also the month we had our Powder Puff Game. This year the Juniors and Sophomores lost l 8-6. Mike Plantamura was captain of the cross country team wasn't he? You're right, but don't forget about the six iuniors on the varsity basketball team. Shawn Welch, Jeff Weinhold, Jim O'Laughlin, Jeff Lerned, Wayne Daigle, and Bruce Blood. Remember the Drivers Ed. Classes at night? That was when Moe and Joe suppos- edly learned how to drive. At the Pops Concert, Vicky Dobrzynski played Slaughter on Tenth Ave. with the band. There was also the care free concert to win the Raspberries. We even had kids in detention writing them up. John Cartelli scored his first 800 on the College Boards. I heard they were forming an 800 club. ls that something like the 400 Lounge? Year, it sounds the same. Jeff Weinhold and Debbie DeRosa received the D.A.R. Awards that year. Dave Coletta got the Legion of Merit Award. Richard Benedict got the Outstanding Marcher Award. And Mary Palazzo got roses at the Honor Society induction. John Cartelli got the Rensselear Award and Becky Yohe got the Harvard Book Prize. Elected to Boys' State were Mark Derosiers and Mike Plantamura. Becky Yohe was elected to l53 l I 4 Girls' State. The Year-book members were elected and they were Paula Bell, Assistant Editor, Steve Hynes, Elaine Foderaro, Vito Samperi, Sue Lemoine, Sue Lupo, Gayle Grosse, Bev Chontonian, Becky Yohe, Kathy Winn, Vicky Dobrzynski and you were the editor Bob. We were out of school for about a week and then the Soccer Marathon took place. Twenty-two men played soccer for 32 hours to gain the World Marathon Title. Then to find out we didn't even break the record, hurt. But we're going to try again in June. We had another summer vacation, but this time when we came back to Tenney we were the mighty seniors. While some teams were having a disappointing year, the soccer team surprised everyone with a successful year at IO-2-2 record. It was the first year the soccer team made the Tech. ln the first game they were beaten in double overtime 2-O. This year's class officers were Pres., Sue Lupo, V.P., Nancy Benson, Sec., Bev. Chontonian, Sue Lemione, Treas. The student council members were Bob Townsend, Pres., Gayle Matthes, V.P., Steve Hynes, Mark Concheri, Steve Floris, Paula Bell and Mary Jane Mansor. The Cheerleaders were co-captains Paula Bova and Gayle Foderaro, Kim Borderi, Michelle Stroffalino, Donna Reitano and Sue Lupo, They got a lot of cheering support from the upper right corner of the bleachers during the Thanksgiving Day Football Game. Chosen football queen this year was Sue Lemoine. Her attendants were Elaine Foderaro and Mary Jane Man- sor. Tony Catalano and Sue Bonenfant were elected King and Queen. At the basketball games the Kazoo band got the school spirit going. Bomb scares also got the school spirit going. This year we must have had at least ten. Yeah and one of those was during a blizzard. What about the time John Cartelli had to define negligee in his English Class? We had two concerts and one movie sponsored by the Student Council. The navy band came in for one per- formance and we had Free-Fair concert with Rosco on guitar. And the movie was 1776 although we only got to see 3 of the 4 reels. The Donkey Basketball game created a lot of laughs as both teachers and students were knocked off their asses. We also had our own dating service as Mrs. Hovanasian and Mr. Francis took the responsibility of match- making. Speaking of Ma, what about the senior class play MASH? Wasn't it the greatest! l think it was the best Ten- ney ever put on. Jerry Peters, Brad Craven, Nancy Parsons and Ann Dore won the drama awards. Besides John Car- telli's two 800, on college boards this year, other people won awards. Carol Drouin won the leadership award and Shirley Rose won the Service Award from the Honor Society. Gina Soucy won the John Phillip Sousa Award and Vicky Dobrzynski and Jerry Peters won the School Choral Award. The Reader's Digest Award given annually to the Valedictorian, went to John Cartelli. Dawn Spencer was Distributive Education girl of the year and John Sciuto was Distributive Education boy of the year. Athlete of the Year Award went to Carolyn Sanford. Liz Leonard won the Joyce Helen Mintzner Memorial Trophy. Kathy Winn received this year's D.A.R. Award. Now, l guess all that's left are Prom and Graduation. What? Don't you remember? No, start at the beginning. Well, first the earth was a swirl- ing mass of volcanic lava, then, it cooled two tiny amoebae formed in a tiny pool, the start of life. Attested and signed this 30th day of May I975 6 Class Prophecg - 1975 Susan Bonenfant Kurt Carlson Hi Sue, guess we're the first to arrive. How've you been Kurt? l'm so excited. lt's been ten long years since our class of '75 has met together. l've been really curious about what everyone has made of their lives. Have you heard from anyone? Remember Al Kamal? Alias Al Bear? He's a professional gorilla. And Brian Raymond is a permanent resi- dent at Walpole State Prison. A couple of our class mates are wealthy landowners. Bruce Blood now owns a piece of Stephen Barker School yard. He makes his millions by charging the kids 510.00 to play there, and Georgia Cattone is a wealthy shareholder in D.K.'s. Mark Concheri is still searching for the right woman. Tom Buco is still concentrating on growing. lt takes a lot out of a person, you know. Brian Buckley is a famous rock star. John Cartelli is that mad scientist who runs that weird laboratory up on Riverdale Ave. Cheryl and Janice DiMauro head the Distributive Educa- tion Department at Methuen High School. I heard they have Mr. Pilat working the register at the school store. And did you know that John Bonanno still says he beat up those seven guys all by himself? He always was a show off. Debbie Cubelli is still undecided and Manny DeDeus is still searching for something worth while to do with her life! They're probably the only two smart ones from the class of '75. Nancy Bodenrader is now the head secretary at Arlington Trust Bank on Salem Rd. Her staff consists of Angela Cyr, Lyn Crete, Tanny Garrity and Denise Ouellette. Sean Sulli- van and Maureen LaCroix got married. So did Doug Burns and Cheryl Dube. Remember Jack Scuito? Ten years ago he was the biggest dealer in Tenney High, now he's the biggest dealer in the United States. Louie Gaudreau is still pumping gas at Fay 8. Driscoll, good ol' loyal Louie. Jungle Jim O'LoughIin is an owner of the Volkswagon factory over in North Andover. Jimmy owns it? l know a lot of kids who work there. Jim Briggs, Mike Barry, Richard McDowell, Mike Morin and some assemblers are Dale Ricci, Moe Regan, Donna Traficante, Joanne Waitt, Ann Jar- dine and Cathy Ireland. Jay Cater is now the owner of a percussion store and studio. Donna Reitano and Debbie Sweeney are still recovering from their swinging Un. Mass. life. Would you believe that Kathy Ford is still partying, that is when she's not baby sitting for Mary Jane Mansor's kids. They still go to Cuzzins IV with Billy Egan and Teddy Haiiar, and eggs are still thrown at the car. Cathy Scott is still living free. Will she ever settle down? Did you hear about the Kindly Brenda Appleyard? Yes, I hear she' doing remarkable work. She owns an orphanage, right? Yes, but she ran into a little trouble about a year ago. The Wacky Weeders, Jay Atkinson, Dave Downey, Jim Scuito, Mike Wrobel, Dave Cardone, Dave Reagan, Steve Pilz and Jeff Nason raided the orphanage. They were arrested by chief of Police Mike Silvestro. Doesn't Steve Collins work at the orphanage to help support his film-making hobby? But it doesn't offer too much work because there is only one orphan left, Dan Dunn. That new High School they built ten years ago didn't last too long. l suppose you heard that Joe Grassello designed the New Methuen High School they built last year. Jeff Lerned did the land surveying for it, right? Bruce Perkins, who owns the Methuen MacDonald's serves as the Cafeteria Supervisor. Richard Gingras is the head of the English Department, and Nancy Benson is a math teacher. And Patty McMenamon is the school nurse. They have a great sports department now. Mike Erving is I5 7 football coach. Mike Lawton is soccer coach. Curt Goulet coached Methuen High hockey team to its ninth straight state championship. Paul Drury, Roger Trembley, and John Bagetta are gym teachers. Every now and then you read about some other kids who have been making guest appearances at Methuen High. Ken Schelling gives a guest appearance. He's a member of the N.H.L. and makes 5500,000 a year. Mark Buben, the star from the Miami Dol- phins, lectures the football team occasionally. Cathy Paris is the maiorette instructor, and Vicky Dobrzynski, a concert pianist in New York City, helps out instructing the band. Do you remember John Collins? He is now a pilot for TWA. Mike Plantamura is his navigator and Jane Forgione, Cindy Fleming and Donna Hollins are all stewardesses on the plane. I heard the other day he flew the great film stars Jerry Peters, Nancy Parsons, Brad Craven, who recently divorced Barbara Stoebel, and Anne Dore, who iust finished her sixth season with MASH, to Washington, D.C. They met Lisa Camacho, the President of the U.S. and Kevin Kissinger, the Secretary of State. They also met Robert Gross, Admiral of the 9th Fleet, who's fleet of four rowboats, commanded by Bob Coco, Roland Galude, Alfred Marsan, and David Rotondo, won fame in the Chicago Sewer affair as The chicken of the sea. Have you even been to Doug's place? You know Doug Clarke. He owns that lounge in the Methuen Mall. Yes, they have good entertainment in there, Paula Vaiknoras is the dancer, Sal Polizzotti, Kim Donnelly, and Carol Baillargeon are in the band, and Laurie Wilson is the singer. Yes, I always see Mike Kennedy and Steve Copley in there. The years sure didn't affect their rowdiness. Jimmy and Vinny Luciano, Herald Gobel, Mike Green, Ray Chase, Scott Wooles and Tom Ange are always in there. The mall really has a large variety of sto'res.
