Un the one hand. we see glimpses of the wonders that may be ours through the relieving of human bondage. while. on the other hand. we are confronted by the spec-tre of indescribable carnage involved in modern war and by the militant voices of both the Left and Right which press for their forms of totalitarianism. lf we. the people of this universe, are to live full. bountiful lives, then needed desperately today is the inquisitive mind in the courageous body. Needed too. are new patterns of thinking which will bring into being the uniinpassioned, def-ent resolving of human conflict- Do you care? Where do you stand? What are you going to do about it? Martha D. Lange A friend to her students, A teacher outstanding, Her efforts were aimed At always demanding The best from each pupil Who came to her class. She,d do all she could To help everyone pass. Sheid have before school A short practice session. Her wit and her patience Made quite an impression On faculty, parents, and all whom she taught. To do more than her job Was all that she sought. She now is retired, A rest she has earned, For from having her with us There's much we have learned. We,ve learned how to study Yet how to find pleasure By making the most Of our moments of leisure. So weid now like to dedicate This yearbook to you And wish you Cod's blessing In all that you do.
