WELL DESERVED GI.LN THOMAS LOWE Wt, the Nocatula Staff of 1986, would like to extend our greatest ap- preciation to Mr. Glen Lowe. Not only has Mr. Lowe provided supervision over the preparation of our food, but has forged with us a lasting bond of friendship. We wish to honor both his service and his companionship by dedicating the 1986 Nocatula to him. Glen Lowe (better known as Chief or Boss by many) was born in 1933 in Virginia. Upon graduation from high school, he joined the Marines and fought thirteen months in the Korean War. After returning from Korea, he left the Marines to finish his education, only to rejoin in 1957. During his reenlistment he was stationed in several exciting places around the world: Japan, Lebanon, the Phillipines, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico. He also spent a tour of duty in Viet Nam where he received a Letter of Commendation and a Purple Heart. Mr. Lowe filled many positions in the course of his military career such as Drill Instructor for 36 months in South Carolina. After being stationed at several places throughout the United States he became a food technician. At one time, he was responsible for training cooks, bakers, and feeding 9,000 people at one sitting. He successfully completed his career in the Marines and retired on July 29, 1976. After retirement, Chief went to work for ARA. His first assignment was with the Alabama Nutritional Program, where he fed 13,000 senior citizens each day. During this time he attended the Auburn University School of Economics. Mr. Lowe has been at TWC for three years and has been a great asset to campus life. Although he spends about twelve hours a day (even Sundays) on campus he still finds time to be with his wife, Grace, their two daughters and beautiful granddaughter. Glen ' s philosophy of life is The good Lord has put us on this earth for a reason and it is up to us to make ourselves happy! We shouldn ' t sit around feeling sorry for ourselves, we should get out there and make things happen for ourselves. We can cause our own problems, but we can especially bring happiness to others and ourselves. I like working with the faculty and especially the students. They make me feel young all over again! Again, we say Thank You to Glen Thomas Chief Lowe for his consis- tent concern and understanding. No one else would listen to all our com- plaints and still give his best! We wish for you, with admiration and respect, all the world ' s best. TL: Daughter, Rhonda, enjoys a happy time at home. ML: Rock-a-bye Granddad . . .. LL: The Real Boss — Granddaughter Brittany. LR: This is the life! Glen and Grace relax the most when they are fishing.

IN 9 EASY SHOTS . . . TL: Most Mischeivous, Karen Campbell and Steve Kerley were caught leaving the scene after unsuccessfully attempting to obtain Dr. Dunn ' s midterm exam. TR: Karen Peavyhouse and Scott Trigg seem to handle the pressures of Most Outgoing quite easily. LL: Being Most Dependable, it takes Rhonda McDaniel and Trainer Ehrenfeld forever to set up a date. LR: Chris Allen and Jack Barnhart, Most Attractive, have what it takes for the look of the 80 ' s. L: Mr, and Mrs. TWC, Dwayne Brabson and Diane Renfro, displayed all of those unique characteristics we wish we all had.
