i L odicatian Donella Cochran Brown made her first public appear- ance very early. She travelled with her parents, her father having a vital part in the ministries of several evangelists. Donella was provided a solid musical foundation by her mother, herself a musician. She attended school at home in Winona Lake, Indiana, Bob Jones College, and The University of Chattanooga, receiving the Bachelor of Music and Master of Music degrees. The first year of her marriage to Dr. Fred Brown was spent in the British Isles, where she assisted him musically in evangelism. A daughter, Regina Ellen, was born and they continued their travels until she started school. Mrs. Brown came to Temple in 1950. In the past, she has directed the band and the chorus. She presently teaches voice and organ, directs the A Capella and church choirs, and serves as a church pianist. One senses perfectionism in all she undertakes, and her work takes on the beautiful and refined tones of the Classics. These q ualities are evident also in her daily life as she gives herself to the service of Christ and others. Mrs. Brown, for your very evident dedication to God, Temple, and the individual student, we dedicate this annual to you with our love.

SYMPHONY As nineteen sixty-five has crescendoed, one can see And hear the glorious music of the Father’s symphony. This music swells its beauty to the farthest missionfield— Yet beats within the trusting heart, by Holy Spirit sealed. The strains are filled with harmony, melodious and sweet The Temple smiles and friendliness are the accents on the beat. The unity of purpose is perhaps the concert key Which guides away from discord in the Temple family. The vivaciousness in rhythm keeps the school going in a pace There is no room for the quitter, no rest in this music’s race; For the symphony must be finished with the Director’s last down beat Till the sound of that blessed trumpet interrupts the patting feet. Yet, abruptly stops the lilting strain of the 1965 year And a minor refrain is sounded in the Father’s knowing ear Yet still the baton is guided by the Director’s mighty hand Each little note of sorrow surely by Him ever planned. Then climbs the music even more majestic than before Each player in the symphony must fully learn the score.
