Students anticipated the reunion with friends and the excitement of meeting new people. All were eager to share the events of their summers and their hopes for the promise of an exciting fall quarter. Several improvements of interest and concern to Tech men and women wel- comed students back. Women in Units D and E returned to find phones had been installed in their rooms. Also, a dorm had been provided for women 21 years old or over in which a policy of no hours was observed. Parking areas had been changed to a color-code system. A pass-fail system was approved to begin winter quarter for seniors in good aca- demic standing. These developments helped to assure the students that fall quarter had promise.
