Area parks, lakes attract students Student life at Tech is by no means limited to campus and city. When books and classes, tests and papers begin to give students feelings of confinement and con- fusion, freedom and relaxation may be found in the hills and woods surrounding the Tech campus. Several state parks are within a short drive of the campus, not to mention the large number of scenic spots in the nearby undeveloped woodland areas. The big favorite of students in the spring and summer months is Center Hill Lake, especially Floating Mill Park. This area provides various recreational activities for students such as swimming, skiing, boat- ing, fishing, camping and picnicking. Primitive scenic spots such as Burgess Falls and Cummins Falls make their beauty manifest to the Tech student the year round. Beauty such as this is some- thing to be sharedg and sharing the beauty and enjoyment of nature is one reason that Tech students enjoy close relation- ships with friends.
