LOUIS JOHNSON, Director of School ot Business Administration Mr. Johnson was graduated from the Bowling Green College of Com- merce with a B.S. in I932. He received his LL.B. from Cumberland University and his M.A. from Northwestern in I940. Mr. Johnson, who came to Tech in I936, is a member of the American Accountants Association. Kittrell Hall Houses School of Business Directed by l.ouis Johnson, Jr., the School ol' Busi- ness :Xdminislration is located in liittrell Hall. Have ing moved at the lirst ol' the H58 term lrom the .Xdmin- istration Building, the School now has a permanent home in the renovated East Hall, which was named lor T. YV. Kitrell, lormer bursar. Having a two-lold purpose, the School prepares stu- dents lor the teaching ol' business subjects in secondary schools and at the same time trains the luture business leaders in the lields ol' accounting. management. bank- ing. secretarial practices. salesinanship and merchandise mg. Curriculum lor the School ol' Business .VXdministra- tion ranges lrom secretarial courses such as typing and shorthand to the more specialized courses such as eco- nomics, money and banking, and cost accounting. In addition to technical training. a liberal education can be attained through the students selection ol' electives. The School is composed ol the department ol' ae- counting, headed by -lohnsong the department ol' man- agement, directed by Dr. Edward Cornelius: and the department ol' business education and secretarial science, headed by Mrs. Ray Kinslow. The School does not offer the general B.S. degree but instead a B.S. degree in business administration, which is more valuable to the graduates. Business majors meet the requirements for a secondary school certificate to teach in Tennessee.
