Our jovial dean always manages to find solu- tions lor the most dillicult curriculum troubles. Ile is noted especially lor his ad lib remarks while making his well known announcements in assembly. He olten refers to himself as the An- cient lilllltllllllfliu and certainly does know the history ol' the college. Meadows, Dean of Students, has won the admiration of 'l'ech students with his excellent understanding of young people and their dilliculties. No matter what disciplinary problems arise. 4'Uncle John always exercises tact amd justice, gained through years of experi- ence with young people. Dean Meadows taught at Tech in the spring quarters of WSU, 1937, and IEI38. He assumed his present position as Dean of Students twelve years ago.

GORDON PENNEBAKER Since H747 veterans of Tennessee Tech have carried their problems to Dr. Gordon Pennebaker whose kindly advice and encouragement has made life more pleasant during some of their trying col- lege experiences. ln addition to these duties, Dr. Pennebaker is Director of the School of Arts and Sciences and Head of the Department of Biology. oggrarian CLARENCE P. SNELGROVE Clarence P. Snelgrove has been head librarian at Tennessee Tech since 1936. He received his l3.L.S. degree from Peabody College. During his years at Tech, Mr. Snelgrove has been unusually successful in his efforts to increase the number of volumes in the college library and to make library materials easily accessible to Tech students and faculty. Librarian Snelgrove, through his generous, prompt service and his willingness to cooperate in every activity on the campus, has won the respect and appreciation of the student body and the faculty.
