TWO CAMPUSES TO SERVE YOU I Since July 1,1979, Tennessee State University has had two campuses to sen e its students, faculty, and staff. Its central campus is located between 28th an I I Avenues North and is bounded by the Cumberland River on the nort an ion Street on the south, at 3500 Centennial Blvd. Its sixty-five plus but mgs, par i g | I lots, outdoor facilities, pasture and farm lands occupy some 450 acres. , The downtown campus is housed in a large modern building which is loca e a | I Tenth and Charlotte Avenues with adjacent parking facilities. Within these boundaries TSU, in carrying out its mandate as a land-gran I I institution of instruction, research and service, has been putting it together oca y and nationally. The University contributes to the advancement of all who see i s I I services and can profit from its broad education programs. , , As an integral part of its raison d’etre the University aims to: I 1. Maintain high standards of instruction in general education, in con njui ® i ■ education and in the curricula and field of specialization through which the egr I programs are offered. i ■ 2. Encourage faculty and students to engage in research, which advances I knowledge in their specialized areas. . . . , . h I I 3.
