Meanwhile Cape Town residenTs swarmed aboard The TENNESSEE in a sTeady sTream, poking inTo every nook and cranny aboard The big ship. Teen-age girls sTood' awed by The huge I4-inch guns, mounTed forward and aff. lnquisiTive liffle boys deTerminedly aTTempTed To climb inTo The Two Kingfishers on The quarTer-deck. l-learTy maT'rons inspecTed The galley: sampled The huge vaTs of sTeaming food.
