A graduate ot the University of Pitts- burgh, Mr. Rhoads is Vice-President of the Middle States Association ot College Registrars, l-lis outside interests include church work, golfing, and bridge. DR. H. LAMARR RICE, Director at Re- ligious Activities, is a newcomer to the University. A member of Phi Gamma Mu and Tau Kappa Alpha, Dr. Rice was formerly minister at the First Baptist Church, Albion, N. Y., and Director of Religious Activities at Keuka College in New York. MR. JOHN G, BERRIER, Coordinator at Veterans' Education, became a member of the administration in i946. Holder of the degree at B.S., Mr, Berrier was in the Army Air Corps for tour and a halt years as a pilot and instructor. His outside in- terests include hunting, tishing, and cabinet making. . , .l MR. JOHN BARR, Placement Officer, has been with the University for 32 years, Mr. Barr, who tounded the Placement Bureau in l924, was graduated from Temple in l9lO, A member of the As- sociation at School and College Place- ment Officers, Mr. Barr's chief hobby is reading, his special interest lying in biography. DMI I MISS GERTRUDE D. PEABODY Dean ot Students, has been a member the administration for Z5 years. A ate of the University ot Maine Peabody received her A.M. at Cc and her L.l. D. at her alma mater Lieutenant Commander in the vvrx during the war, lvlss Peabody joined , . . E . C University as an instructor in the H Economics Department. DR. MlLl.ARD E. GLADFELTER, Provost and Vice-President of the University, joined the administration in i93l, Director at Temple High School from i930 to i93l and Registrar from l93l to l939, Dr. Glodfelter is a graduate ot Gettysburg College, He holds the degrees ot AB., MA., Ph.D., DSC., and l.L.D.

I-le received his B.S. at iowa State University in 1923, majoring in architecture and civil en- gineering. l-le is Director at Building Owners and Managers Association and a member at Chi Phi. TR 'I'l0 DEAN A. BLAIR KNAPP, a member ot the administration since 1945, is a graduate at Syracuse University, where he received his AB. and MA. A member at Phi Beta Kappa and Phi Kappa Phi, Dean Knapp was formerly Dean of Men at Syracuse. Dean Knapp is affiliated wlth the Na- tional Education Association and the Eastern Association ot Deans and Ad- visors of Men. MR, CHARLES E. METZGER, Administra- tive Assistant ta the President and Di- rector ot Community Services, became a member of the administration in 1934. l-le was graduated from Trenton State Teachers College with a BS. in Education in 1928, and received his M.A. at New York University in 1932. 5 DR.. JONAS W. BUCI-lER, Director of Duplicating Service, is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania. where he re- ceived his B.S., MA., and Ph.D. A mem- ber of Phi Beta Kappa and Phi Delta Kappa, Dr. Bucher previously taught in the secondary school system. DR. BRUCE S. ROXBY, Director at l-lealth Service, was graduated from Duke Uni- versity. 1-le received his M.D., and M.Sc., at Temple. Besides directing the l-lealth Service, Dr. Roxby teaches at the School of Medicine. l-le is a member ot the American Association for the Advance- ment ot Science. MR. CURTIS F. BICKER, Student Store Manager, is a Temple School of Business graduate, having received his BS., in Commerce in 1933. Advisor to Sigma Phi Epsilon, Mr. Bicker has been a member of the administration for 16 years. His posi- tion entails supervisicn ot all purchases ot stock for the Student Store.
