Jennifer Du, Melissa Craig and Phu Duong) The Pennsylvania Society of Health-System Pharmacists (PSHP) is a state affiliate of ASHP and the School of Pharmacy has a very active PSHP Student Chapter. The PSHP Student Chapter is an organization that student pharmacists may join in order to learn more about the practice of health-system pharmacy. An invitation to attend monthly continuing education dinner programs is one of the most popular student membership benefits. Chapter activities have also included designing an interactive poster on drug-nutrient interactions, creating a chapter website and logo, attending the PSHP mid-year meeting in Pittsburgh, volunteering at a Special Olympics Basketball Tournament, participating in the Walk for Healthy Kids and visiting the pharmacy department at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. So I decided the best way to practice my skills was to get involved with health screenings in the community. The benefits became two-fold, 1 was helping people and they were helping me to be a better pharmacist. I've always had a drive to help people and I felt this was the best way to impact patients' lives. Now screenings have become something I love and enjoy doing! -Stefanie Emanuel APhA is a leader in providing professional information and education for pharmacists and an advocate for improved healthcare. It includes more than 50,000 members nationwide, and members from our class who have given tremendous effort over the past four years!
