The Mew Drugs . . . Designer Drugs . . . PEOPLE ARE TALKING Designer drugs, analogs of compounds with proven pharmacologic activity, are manufactured by underground chemists for sale on the street. In early October Channel 3 s PEOPLE ARE TALKIMQ,” hosted by Robert Day invited Temple pharmacy students to join the audience. The day's live broadcast was entitled Ecstacy.” Once again it was up to Temple to exercise their thirst for Knowledge and to apply their expertise of drug information. The show s guests Included three anonymous users of Ecstacy and China White, a pharmacologist, a psychologist, a federal drug official and more. Those who participated had the distinction of being on television to represent Temple and to finally be a star. 12
