Medicinal Chemistry The Department of Medicinal Chemistry teaches both graduate and undergraduate courses. The undergraduate courses include: chemical equilibria and the fundamentals of analysis as these concepts apply to the measurement of pharmaceutical and medicinal substances in dosage forms and clinical samples: biochemistry as it describes mammalian processes in general and systems subject to modulation by pharmacologically active substances in particular: and medicinal chemistry, the chemical basis of treatment of disease. The graduate courses offered by faculty of the department range from analytical instrumentation through spectroscopic determination of structure, physical medicinal chemistry, chemical pharmacology and toxicology.
