Pharmaceutical Chemistry The Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry teaches both undergraduate and graduate students. The department is responsible for the radiation facilities in the School of Pharmacy and the teaching of all the nuclear pharmacy courses. Dr. Samuel Elkin, the department chairman, has been responsible for bringing in more than one million dollars in grants from the National Institute of Occupational Health and Safety to train graduate students in industrial hygiene through the department s masters degree programs. Some days Just aren’t worth getting out of bed for. Clinical Pharmacy The Department of Clinical Pharmacy is involved in teaching the practice oriented courses: Contemporary Pharmacy Practice, Institutional Practice and Contemporary Concepts in Parenterals. and the patient oriented courses: Disease States. Clinical Instruction and Chart Review. The Department is also responsible for the senior Clinical Clerkship Externship which includes rotations in Institutional and Community Pharmacy, Medical Rounds and Specialty areas. In addition to the full time clinical faculty, we also have 120 volunteer faculty who provide both sites and supervision for the Clerkship Externship. The members of the Department of Clinical Pharmacy congratulate you and wish you much success upon entering our profession of Pharmacy.
