Although they are no longer teaching in the classroom, they are an intricate part of making Temple Pharmacy School what it is today. Mr. Fred Gable served his last year as Assistant Dean, before retiring, the year the graduating class entered pharmacy school. Mr. John Lynch, a former professor of pharmacy, is still the curator of the Pharmacy Museum, located on the fourth floor. True education is not education for any purpose like all striving for perfection. it carries its purpose in itself. Just as the striving for physical strength, dexterity, and beauty serves no ultimate aim, such as to make us rich, famous, and powerful, but is its own reward, since it enhances our life-feeling and self-confidence, since it makes us happier and more resilient and gives us a greater feeling of assurance and health, so the striving for “education, that is. for improvement of the mind, is not an arduous journey toward any definite goal, but a gratifying and fortifying broadening of our consciousness, an enrichment of our possibilities of life and happiness. Accordingly, true education, like true physical culture, is at once a fulfillment and a spur; always at the goal and never stopping to rest, it is a journey in the infinite, a participation in the movement of the universe, a living in timelessness.
