To the Class of 1963 You are the last of our “Mohican's,” the last four year class to graduate from our school, ami will prohahly be looked upon as the old time pharmacy graduates in the not too distant future. You are aware that you are plunging into a changing profession, one that is in a vast turmoil both economically and professionally. As a practicing pharmacist I feel that the future still has many bright spots for you, but perhaps as never before will demand of you hard work and unswerving loyalty to your chosen profession. It is my experience that those people who have had confidence in themselves and that what they are doing is right will overcome almost every obstacle, and 1 feel that those of you who have “confidence in pharmacy will rise to the heights and bring both credit and honor to our profession and school. 1 hope that your years in pharmacy will he both as gratifying and rewarding as it has been to us your faculty. Greetings to the class of 1963: Through your program of study here at Temple University School of Pharmacy you have acquired specific knowledge and techniques which are essential in the conduct of your chosen vocation. As a member of the profession of pharmacy, you will have many opportune ie . for an active, useful and absorbing career. But to meet tin- challenges of your profession. with its constantly changing aspects, you must keep abreast of the times by continued study, research, and active participation in your professional organizations. Let each do his part to share responsibility in the growth and destiny of pharmacy. By so doing, you will bring honor to it and credit to your Alma Mater. Although my part in your education and training has been a minor . • I feel that I know you well, both through observation of your work in the laboratory and through our many pleasant social contacts. This association has afforded me much personal gratification and pleasure —your class will long remain among my happiest memories. Congratulation upon the successful completion of your studies. DEDICATED We, the students of Temple University School of Pharmacy wish to express our appreciation to Mrs. Frances Marr Wilson by dedicating this yearbook to her. in recognition of her warmth, understanding, and generosity to Pharmacy students for over a decade. Mrs. Wilson, generous with her time, has counselled and encouraged us in our moments of stress. She is always ready with a smile and a cheerful word for all. A native of Lock Haven, Pennsylvania, she came to Philadelphia to attend the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science. Remaining here after her graduation. her activities in Pharmacy have been many and varied: hospital, retail, and educational. Furthering her own education, she attended the University of Pennsylvania where she attained a Bachelor of Arts Degree as an English major. She enlisted in the Women's Army Corp in 1941, serving most of her time in California as a Pharmacy Officer. She achieved the rank of First Lieutenant during her five years of service. She married James ilson and now lives in a beautiful home which they built themselves in Chestnut Hill. She holds membership in Lambda Kappa Sigma International Pharmaceutical Sorority, for which she serves as advisor to the chapter at I emple I niversity. She also is a charter member of Rho Chi Pharmaceutical Honor Society in the chapter which was started here in 1955. She is now serving as Faculty Treasurer. Thru the “dutch doors” in the Pharmacy Labs we found Mrs. Wilson. We know that if we return to our Alma Mater we will still find her guiding future pharmacists. 7
