m 3mm a With sincere, heartfelt thanks we dedicate this book to the member of our faculty most deserving of acclamation. In the past four years Mr. Lynch has not only been one of our professors” but also a true friend, advisor and confidant. Fate has treated the class of 59 well, by enabling us to have such a close relationship with a truly dedicated person. Dedicated to the profession, and in addition, to the purpose of helping the student in every phase of college life. A short biography will help to paint a picture ol his personality and service to humanity. Mr. Lynch is a native born Philadelphian, a graduate from Northeast High School and a 1933 alumnus ol our own institution. Me has been a member of the faculty since 193(i and was recipient of the Alumni Award in 1917. Mr. Lynch is an active member of many associations and has held prominent offices in a number of them. To enumerate: he has held presidencies in the Philadelphia branch of the American Pharmaceutical Association, the Temple University Pharmacy Alumni Association and the Philadelphia Association of Retail Druggists. In 1950 he served as the vice-president of the N.A.R.D. Presently, he is vice-president ol the local branch of the A.Ph.A. and a director of the Alumni Association where he also serves as Chairman of Student Relations. In addition to these activities, Mr. Lynch is a member of the Professional Public Relations Committee for the A.Ph.A. and P.P.A., and is the originator ol the Temple Prescription Pricing Schedule. He has also written and collaborated on various books and is noted for his interest in civic affairs. He is a member of the Philadelphia Citizens Committee for Fire Prevention. This brief resume only touches on the qualities of a person too commendable to put into words. We are fortunate in knowing this man well enough to be recipients ol his incomparable services. This dedication is a very shallow way to show deep appreciation to a man who deserves so much more—but—in our small way, may we say . . . Thank you. Mr. John A.
