Q Sc A with The Class of 2016 One word to describe Dr. Bettiker? Sweet, as the candy he he keeps in his top shelf in his office, wholehearted and infectious. One memory with Dr. Bettiker? How caring he was with his patients at his HIV clinic, he went above and beyond for each of them. VVc can only aspire to become incredible physicians as he is. One thing Dr. Bettiker has taught you? Besides having someone do your statistics for you. Dr. Bettiker has taught me to approach each patient as a blank slate with an open mind and fresh eyes. If you could be a bug, which one would it be and why? “I would be Toxoplasma. I would hang out in the brain. 1 would oversee everything and not cause too many problems”. If you could be an antibiotic, which one would you be and why? “I would be Imipenem. It has broad coverage and is involved in many things. It's sort of a left-handed molecule, gives you another perspective and a different way of approaching things”. What is your favorite spot in Philadelphia? “I love to walk and bike in Fairmount Park. I also like to eat! My favorite restaurant is Garces Trading Company”. What advice do you have or our class after graduation? “There are times to be very serious and buckle down to work. But there are many times to let loose. There are times to do both! Don’t forget to have a balance between the both. Intern year is fun but it is a learning opportunity that you don’t get again .
