GUIDING US THROUGH THE JOURNEY The graduation hood each student receives is a relic from medieval times which remains as a great tradition in present dag academia. The hood is lined in silk with the official colors of the institution conferring the degree. The edging of the hood is in velvet, with a particular color representative of the field of studg to which a degree pertains. Temple University's official colors are cherrg and white, while dark green signifies medicine. HOODERS □r. Amy Goldberg ne of the great continuing traditions o at Te nple University School of Med- icine is the presence of hooders; individuals who symbolically bestow the medical degree upon each graduate. The Senior Class chooses four individuals to assist with the placement of hoods on each of the members of the graduating class. These distinguished members of the Temple University School of Medicine Faculty were selected not only for their superior quality of teaching, but, for their compassion, hard work and dedication to patient care and the practice of medicine. Each hooder has commited themselves to challenging the minds of medical students and encouraging future doctors to be the best that they can be. □r. Carson Schneck a 2004 Skull
