A Message From the Editor TO THE CLASS OF 1993 It's time to draw an end to a long four years. I can honestly say that my Senior year was not a breeze, but neither was my Freshman year. We've all put in many hours of hard work studying, taking tests and waxing-up crowns. But, on May 20, 1993, put down your Hollenback and your 7A spatula and pat yourself on the back-you deserve it!!!!! Congratulations-you finally made it!!!!! As editor of the yearbook, I've had a chance to reminisce over many photos. Back in August of 1989 it all began. On our first day, we congregated in Rm B. I remember sitting way in the back, observing. So many faces- confident ones, scared ones!!! I saw people who talked to one another like they'd known one another for a lifetime, and I just watched thinking that dental school would seem like a lifetime. So many different people. But after a few short months ( and several parties ) we realized different didn't matter, we were all in this thing together. As you are scanning through the pages of the 1993 Odontolog (probably looking for yourself), I hope that happy times, humorous moments, and new friendships come to mind. There are pictures of faculty, whose job was a difficult one. They had to educate and prepare us for professional life. For all their efforts, I thank them. There are pictures of different staff members, I thank you for cleaning up after us, taking down all our messages, and dropping all the No Show folders! Finally, there are pictures of some of your classmates, your closest friends!! Please look, read, and enjoy!!! For my closing thoughts, try not to remember just how much you disliked rubber dams in Operative, altered casts in Removable, 3rd molar exo., gutta percha removal with a hot plugger, and hearing We need a Perio. Assist immediately on the third floor for Dr. So and So . Instead, try to remember all the great friends you've made, goodtimes that were had, and all the knowledge that you've gained. Congratulations! 5
