You will probably recall that time in January, 1988 when I met with the entire senior class. It will always be a memorable event for me because I was impressed with your maturity, professionalism and constructive spirit. There is a remarkable metamorphosis which occurs with students between their sophomore year and graduation. For all practical purposes you were the first class who spent the entire senior year during my administration. There were a lot of changes during this time and I will always be grateful for the patience which you showed when these changes sometimes made your lives difficult. However it is plain that we all recognized that change was inevitable and we seem to agree that so far the results have been constructive. There should never be a doubt in anyone’s mind that our first priority is to strengthen and maintain the quality of our predoctoral program. It is unfortunate that you won't be here to experience life in the new building. As an alternative I hope that you will have enough good memories to draw you back to visit us in the future. I promise that, as long as we have your address, we will continue to keep you informed of what is happening via the alumni newsletter. You have my admiration for entering a great profession. You have my grateful thanks for your patience, your understanding, and your cooperation. And, you have my prayers and best wishes for your futures. Sincerely, Martin F. In doing so, I have watched and experienced our concerns change daily from passing didactic examinations and National Boards to completing the clinical requirements in the allocated time. At times, it seemed as if our requirements were too difficult and overexacting. However, as graduation approaches, we can now understand the purpose of producing our best and, in doing so, give us an appreciation of quality service. Many new friendships have developed in our class during the past four years. It is of utmost importance that we maintain these relationships throughout our own course in life. Finally, I would like to take this opportunity to thank each of you for allowing the class officers to serve and represent you over the past four years. I wish for all of you health, happiness, and much success in the years to come. Sincerely yours, 52 Scott Mitchell Smith Class President I WHO WERE THE CLASS OF 88? Marc J. Adelstein 5-1 56 Arvin K.
