TEMPLE UNIVERSITY A Commonwealth University School of Dentistry 3223 North Broad Street Philadelphia, PA 19140 (215) 221-2802 Office of the Dean The Class of 1987 is not the first class that was recruited under my administration, but it is the first class that I, as Dean, have graduated. I will always remember the Class of 1987 for its turnout at the one hundredth annual commencement exercises of Temple University—undoubtedly the largest and most demonstrative of any dental graduating class in recent years. The presence of the School of Dentistry was definitely established on May 21, 1987! While I deeply appreciate that your intentions may have been for my benefit, what you may not have realized at the time is that you did it for yourselves and for your profession. As Doctors of Dental Medicine you are mandated to accept inescapable responsibilities to your patients. You must always perform at the highest levels of knowledge and skill. You must maintain impeccable patient relationships which will warrant trust, understanding, compassion, and confidence. As your Dean, I am certain that these responsibilities are in good hands and that your professional growth will reflect credit upon yourselves, your families, and Temple University School of Dentistry.
