ROECK Associate Dean 12 My heartiest congratulations to each of you of the distinguished Class of 1970. Much has been written about the students of the Sixties, and much has been predicted for, and will be expected of, the graduates of the Seventies. At your own initiative in some degree, but much more by initiation from the School, your class has been more involved in the overall planning and decision making process of our School than any other class. I find comfort in that and you should take pride in it. The faculty is confident of your mastery of the knowledge and skills of dentistry. We trust that you will continue to grow professionally throughout your lifetime. But as a professional man in your community, you will also be looked to and called upon for leadership in many issues that extend beyond the walls of your office or the comfort and security of your home. It is my hope that you will continue to be sensitive to the problems facing our society and will assume your responsibility as a professional person in the fullest meaning of the word. Again our very best wishes to each of you. 13 14 PAUL ANDERSON President The Herman Clinic The Dr. Louis Herman Clinic, honoring a beloved friend and faculty member of the Dental School, affords the dental student an opportunity to practice dentistry in an atmosphere closely resembling that of a private practice. Included in this clinic are nine operato-ries, six x-ray units, one laboratory, two consultation rooms, and two offices. A unique feature of the Herman Clinic is that eight of the nine operatories are furnished with different types of dental equipment, which allows students the opportunity to familiarize themselves with equipment they may want to use in private practice. All Junior and Senior students have an opportunity to use the Herman Clinic facilities and three of the operatories are used exclusively by those senior students who have demonstrated outstanding didactic and clinical abilities. This Clinic is truly a lasting tribute to Dr. Herman’s life of dedication and service to the Dental School and the Dental Profession. . i t Black had • , ,i; ; _ J fi !' f l.’ U UJ j -OIt |i • ! t' ' .. r h i.on’nhuiw . f,..• ? ;ol aii i pr:u ?:« £•• .in};ai ti vay. :n | h-' .a iv. is-d it: rhr u? .c ol • • f.;: rr storing iccth. . | ;, r i v| i { 25 ? An excellent text for the kindergarten practitioner, this work demonstrates the need for more general dentists to practice elaborate surgery. Dr. Mohnac outlines various plastic and implant methods. The color 8 x 10 glossy plates show Dr. Mohnac using a number twelve Bard-Parker Comb in performing his technique by indirect reflection via a four foot square tinted mirror. The book comes with complete descriptions on maxillary and mandibular transplants, as well as eye, ear, nose, throat synthetic prosthetic implants. This emphasizes the simplicity of many operations, which 3rd graders at Tioga Street School are usually apprehensive to perform — except when they outnumber you twelve-to-one. Maxillo-Facial Surgery Made Simple is a must for your bathroom. Dr. Strangehate: Or How I Stopped Worrying and learned to Love Mv Dentures — By Temple University ’‘Prothetic” Staff; 1600 pages; 69 illustrations. Available only at Sue’s. This is a must manual for the degenerate dental cripple, in the art and science of plates. The introductory chapters deal with the appearance of the practitioner. The following criteria are listed: shined shoes, sideburns at the Ala-tragus line, baggy pleated pants with cuffs at a 20 degree angle to the Frankford Horizontal plane, crew cut, and a bow tie. Chapters 2, 3 and 4, written by different authors respectively, deal in determining vertical dimension. Commodore Faltermayer uses the phonetic approach, i. e., four hundred forty-four, Mississippi, man the life boats, 1-10, Emma, and delicatessen. On the other hand, Maharishi Mullick who uses the mysterious Hindu technique, which consists of levitating the jaw through meditation, determines his vertical dimension from wrinkles on an elephant’s can. Finally, Wayne ‘Research Room’ Harris’s method for determining V.D. seems unclear except it was consistently 8 mm. less than that determined by other operators. Chapters 5 through 13 deal with the intracacies of tooth selection as sluggishly described by Mr. Tooth Selection himself, Speedy Cardone. Other contributing authors were, Transworld Knast, Israel Bond Nasife, and the boys of the back bench, Irv, Mort and Tom — better known as tricky troika. This work can also be used as a mounting jig or in establishing an occlusal plane. HIGHLIGHTS WORLD HEALTH PRESS Vaccination Against Leukoplakia Identification of the spectophotometric wavelengths responsible for the white tissue appearance of leukoplakia has been disovered by Mexican dental authorities, Juan Zabara and his wonderdogStretch. They are testing the possibility of using certain natural “Grasses in masking the white color with one of “Gold.” Patients chewing, smoking, injecting, or rubbing this special extract of these grasses will be able to fool anyone, die earlier, but go out freaking. Dental Class in Mann-ia The sophomore class at Temple Dental School recently stormed out of the room when special guest, Bugs Bunny, died of a nicotine fit. Upon examination. Dr. Mann attributed his death to over consumption of word salad. New Transplant Technique In Cape Town, South Africa, another routine heart transplant was performed this week. One noticeable change in technique was that instead of suturing the major vessels, they were reattached to the new organ with cohesive foil. An expert from Philadelphia introduced this technique on the premise that anyone could suture a vessel but only the hands of a skilled surgeon can condense a foil. The patient’s body is now rejecting this theory. Pulpal Bull The Vatican recently made additions to the list of names to be removed from the calendar of saints; the most recent one being St. Charles the Short. Upon hearing of his desanctification, the Saint (or shall we say ex-Saint) made his sign of the lower right seven with a maltese cross and stated: “Let my epitaph read: Mesial concavity on the buccal, distal to the lingual slope of the buccal triangular ridge of the lingual cusp adjacent to the mesio buccal groove of the central fossa, counterclockwise, clockwise, cemented to the head of a pin in a butter dish, which is due yesterday at 2:15 a. m.; slide it under my door. Raving Maniac Discovers Anti-Caries Agent Billy the Kid Binns sang his way into history by discovering a new anti-caries agent. He calls this miraculous agent- PHLUORIDE. Breakthrough in Periodontal Pain Control The dental profession received a much needed shot in the arm today with the development of a new technique in local anesthetic injections for periodontal surgery. This technique developed by Dr. Arthur Steinberg, the Harvard Flash, utilizes a 10 inch, 9 guage needle which is inserted through the attached gingiva into the cerebral cortex. Steinberg states that his procedure is entirely foolproof. The patient is presently recovering at Farmer MacDonald’s cabbage patch where he is watered daily (but he has no pockets). BETWEEN OURSELVES New Course Offered Dr. Lantz will offer a course in financial wizardry and practice management, to be given in the second floor toilet, third stall, marked by a Pennsylvania Dutch distalfink. The lecture will commence with degenerate old people taking out their dentures and embarrassing themselves before the entire class. Italian Film Festival Ed Alieva, of Sobel Film Festival fame, was seen selling silent 8 mm. technique films in brown paper bags to first year dental hygienists. Attempted Robbery Foiled by Officer Stagliano At 2:30 p. m., E. S. T., two Mexican banditos were seen at the gold window holding up Betty Pfeiffer. These two men were identified as Jose DeCardona (alias the Cisco Pontic) and Poncho Zabara (alias the Masked Mussy). The bandits were overheard arguing: “You frisk her.” “No, you frisk her. “No, you frisk her.” Mrs. Pfeiffer later told Officer Stagliano that immoral acts were committed, but he wouldn’t believe her. Ans________________ cover story VOODOO DENTISTRY For this month’s feature attraction, Temple Students’ Magazine travels to the deepest jungles of North Philadelphia to seek out an old legend of Voodoo dentistry. It was rumored that somewhere within the confines of the dental school a leader of the original UNITECS, a PIN-me tribe lives and practices this ancient art. Our reporters combed the department trying to peck up a clue of fowl doings. Finally, near the operative burial grounds our search was ended, for there in the corner of ££ pp 81 roosted the ever present, “May I help you,” also known as the Imperial Hen. Clutched within his sweaty hands were a ritualistic, ceremonial pin cutter, a sacred reduction contra-angle, and the ominous pin kit with empty drawers. Answering our first question concerning how he practices Voodoo dentistry, the man replied (in a high tenor voice between choruses of Christmas carols “Sadistically. “ • Imp. Hen: First I slip on the sacred rubber dam and Rep: Excuse me for interrupting but why do you use this rubber dam? Can you give me one reason? Imp. Hen: No, but I can give you 43 reasons. Rep: Well, just give me one. Imp. Hen: Uh ... Oh, cluck it. Rep: Never mind, continue with your description. Imp. Hen: Before sacrificing a virgin tooth for pins, we first get a crew cut, work up a good sweat, then don the ceremonial argyle socks (or optional white cotton socks), then slip on our Ski boots or Tom Me An black bedroom slippers. Rep: What does all that have to do with pins? Imp. Hen: I won't tell you, but I expect you to know it. • Before I could ask another question, his eagle eye detected a light from coop 47. As he left, I overheard him cackle: Dentin. Pulp, Enamel Rods Reporter: Imp. Hen: Rep: Imp. Hen: Rep: Imp. Hen: Rep: Can you be more specific? Yes, our leader Honest Buana Bomba, the great white trader; (specializing in command posts, electromallets, composite resins, and Belair cigarettes with bonus coupons redeemable at Dependable Downtown Byron’s Trading Post) selects his Hench-men by IBM computers and immediate feedback of yellow slips. Then I take them under my wing and instruct them in the infamous ancient art. Who are your PIN-mates? The following are my compatriots: Vince “The Shadow” Lawlor, “Jumping Jack” Flash, “Deputy Dog” Cardone (of tooth selection room fame), “Centerfold Flynn, Paul “the Enamel Hatchet ' Jelus, “Tick me off” Porreca, “Electro-surg” Tracer, “Loop’s” Hardy, and Mister Firth. Is there any dissidence within your tribe? On my right wing, a close coopmate, Coo-Coo Bill, sometimes called three dollar Bill, counteracts the left wing heresy of Prince Monticelli. Specifically, how do you practice this pin ritual? Cleave the tooth Oh Voodoo Gods Friction, minium, all the rest Markley pins you are the best. VIETNAM REPORT In a move to more thoroughly Vietnamize the war effort, the President recently announced the withdrawal of ten batallion dentists, replacing them with dozens of dental instructors. The objective of the Pentagon’s move is to teach the Vietnamese to care for their own foul mouths. Temple University hes begun training its faculty for possible tours of duty in the war zone: 1. The endo. department was seen marching in single file. 2. In the obstacle course, the perio. department led the pack in scaling the wall. 3. The fixed prosthetics department was blowing bridges. 4. The operative department was doing close order drill. 5. Everyone in pedo. was marching to the beat of a different drummer. One of our reporters asked some of the preparing faculty members if they were looking forward to their combat zone experience. Here were their replies: Dr. Fein: “It puts me in stitches. Dr. Faltermayer: “Man the gun boats, lower the gangplank, shiver me timbers, full speed ahead. ” Dr. Wolf: “That's an excellent question; ask it again. ” Dr. Lantz: “Get the yen. Dr. Monari: “Guerilla dentistry will be a very important tactic. ” Dr. Cornish: “I won a game of war once. ” Dr. Firth: “Man the timbers, lower the speed, shiver me gun boats, full plank ahead. ” Dr. Simpson: “Frankly, they all look alike to me. Dr. Tansy: “Dental students are expendable. ” Commander Howell: “Golly gee. I'm as pleased as punch. ” If the enthusiasm which Temple shows exemplifies the feelings in other schools, the U.S. better prepare for years and years of continued fighting (it may take that long to get something checked off). Bomba CO May 15. 1969 Head of Clinic Committee American Dental Association Chicago. Illinois Dear Joe: Having observed Temple Dental Clinic I have compiled the following reasons as to why I believe Temple should be given the Far T. Nozzle award for its outstanding accomplishments in the following fields. Joe. any clinic can make itself available'for training and learning of dentistry. However, it takes a special caliber of a school to make itself unavailable. All dental clinics close some of the time, some of the dental clinics close none of the time, but Temple Dental Clinic closes all clinics all of the time. A new dental clinic is to be dedicated, built with funds collected from the sales of the record “You too can Sleep”, recorded live and in person at the Removable Partial Prosthetics lecture. The recording features Greeley’s Gremlins . Flip side recording is “You too can Sleep: Two” recorded at the Fixed Partial Prosthetics lecture and featuring the Southern Rebel Rouser. By the way, Joe, if anyone purchases 3 of these records, “Barker Bill” will throw in an “XCP” kit for $19.95. Joe, Temple D.S. has finally broken the Class Distinction Barrier”. It has given the Freshmen and Sophomores clinic privileges right along with the Juniors and Seniors. Even though most clinics are closed, the 3rd floor Men’s Toilet has remained open and running, despite a tremendous back flow of material from all other departments. The Perio. Department has tremendously improved its curriculum in the Fresh, and Soph, years. Unfortunately with the improvement, some sacrifices must be made, and this has been the Junior’s lectures, many of which have been cancelled or dealt with such topics as “The Various Styles and Models of Toothbrushes.” Joe, Temple has established an “Honor’s Clinic” for the use of a few students who have already completed requirements, while the great silent majority are struggling for chairs and time. The administration has formed a committee to find out what ever happened to: Bruno Bromke, Don Durdan, Ray Jodoin, Joe McGonagle, Nikita Kruschev, Christine Jorgenson, Beaver Cleaver, and Mrs. Cleaver’s Beaver. Also, Joe. in recognition for Temple’s outstanding contributions, the A.D.A. should give the following awards: 1. The Eisenhower Doll Award — to the Partial denture dept, for steadfast efforts in not doing anything significant. 2. The Professor Irwin Corey Award — to cute face Allan for his double talk scenic lectures. 3. The Highway Safety Plaque — to Dr. Crolius for the intense traffic safety program (special citation for the Clucker) for handing out the most cabinet parking violations in a 24 hour period. 4. The Prospector’s Award — to Charlie for discovering a new vein of inlay gold. 5. The Root-Teen Award — to Marcy Parris. 6. The Jackie Mason Award — to Dr. Space Cadet (Binns). 7. The Philadelphia Gas Works Award — to Dr. Freeman. 8. The “Here nor There” Award — to the Operative Department because we can’t “hear” the lecture, and we don’t want to be there. 9. The Hypocrite Award — to the Administration, for passage of the student honor code for exams, but not allowing the student to make the decision whether to attend lecture or not. In conclusion, Joe. I am sure you can see the incredible progress we are making. The future still holds promises untold. I must again remind you that my role in determining the credits of this institution must remain anonymous. I must again commend you on having that thin-brained, know-nothing act as head of my dept. PATIENTS! Real, live, breathing, bleeding, crying, screaming patients. No one knew quite how we were to obtain pat ients and no one for sure knew how to process them. At times, the instructors were more in the dark than we. But, we survived and so, thank heavens, did our patients. (Who was the soph, who took 35 x-rays, in one day, of a young lady and then recalled her the next day for 2 retakes?) Getting people to come in was a trick. If brothers, mothers, girlfriends, and pick-ups wouldn’t submit, some enterprising albeit desperate men made use of the newspaper and radio advertising media. (Gums got you down?); much to the dismay of the Board of Trustees. Didactically, probably the most unforgettable courses any of us have ever or will every experience were Physiology and Microbiology. It seemed as though both departments were competing with each other as to which could ruin the most students. The final score was Tansy 60, Willett — 55, Students - 0. The material will in time become nebulous but the instructors will be remembered for all time. While Dr. Tansy killed us on the exams. Mr. Kendell confused us in lecture (multiply Bernoulli’s by Poiseuille’s, divide by LaPlace’s soap bubble phenomenon, add the wattage of the wick and you get the moral of the story.) Dr. Hohenleitner stretched our knowledge. Dr. Willett, Dr. Farber and Field Marshall Leberknight instilled in us a tremendous interest in the world of the bacterial cell. To this day. Dr. Willett is still trying to convince us that sperm is not a human cell. The lecture on spirochetes was the classic. (Did you know that you can get V.D. from a toilet seat? Giggle, giggle!) No surprises from Dr. Stantangelo except the day he asked for a class IV gold foil in a soap carving of a polar bear. Crown and Bridge was always a problem. There was one fellow who made five castings of the canine crown only to find out he was working on the wrong side. I think one of our number is still lost in the sewers of Philadelphia looking for his ceramco crown. Thank God its over!!! 200 Front: M. Scheer, J. Specter. R. Silbcrman. Back: E. Williams. J. The society was formed by a group of interested students, in coordination with the Periodontics Department, to serve as a reward for outstanding achievement in Periodontology, and to stimulate learning and skill dev elopement beyond that normally obtained at the undergraduate level. Membership is limited to 25 students who have displayed the highest achievement in both academic and clinical phases of Periodontology. members being selected at the end of the junior year. The purpose of the newly formed Research Society is to stimulate research awareness among the students of the dental school. Through the influence of knowledgable guest speakers and the informality of student seminars, its members are given an opportunity not provided in the school's current curriculum; the opportunity to learn methods available for approaching research problems. It is also the society’s goal to provide the student body with information regarding research positions and post-graduate programs which stress oral research. Membership in the society is open to all members of the four undergraduate dental classes who are interested in becoming aware of current trends in research useful to their pursuit of professional careers. RESEARCH SOCIETY 222 FREDERIC JAMES SOCIETY OF CLINICAL PATHOLOGY The James Society is an honor society for students who have shown excellence in the areas of General Histology and Pathology, and who wish to pursue further their interests in clinical pathology. Students are chosen for membership on the basis of their performance and interest in Histology, General Pathology and Oral Pathology. They also must maintain a high class academic standing. The officers are James Lovell — President, Ronny Taschner Vice-President, Frank Matarazzo — Secretary, and William Fromkin — Treasurer. The basic aim of the Oral Surgery Honor Society is to broaden the students interest in the field of Oral Surgery. ORAL SURGERY HONOR SOCIETY 223 GOLD FOIL STUDY GROUP The Gold Foil Study Group is an organization formed for the purpose of improving the skills of its participants both academically and clinically in the area of operative dentistry. The membership includes ten senior members and five faculty members. Selection for membership is made in April of the Junior year and is based on overall academic and clinical achievement, with specific emphasis on ability and interest in quality operative dentistry. Under the very able guidance of Dr. Robert Hardy, this society meets one afternoon a month during the calender year for a clinical meeting. Through such meetings and the discussions which follow, the Gold Foil Study Group attempts to instill the principles of better operative dentistry in its members. In striving toward this aim the group supports the premise that good restorative dentistry follows from an understanding of and skill in the basic fundamentals of operative dentistry. The Oral Pediatric Study Society was founded in 1963 under the auspices of Dr. Ernest F. Ritsert. Professor of Oral Pediatrics. The society is composed of a group of students selected on the basis of academic achievement, clinical ability, personal character, and interest in the advanced study of oral pediatrics. The goal of the society is to provide an opportunity for its members to come into contact with advanced problems in handling of the child patient. The teaching staff of the department of Oral Pediatrics selects six members at the end of the first semester of the junior year, and six more at the close of the second semester. The purpose of the society is to provide an opportunity for each of its members to attend seminars and lectures by outstanding oral pediatricians and promote the oral health and general welfare of the child patient. It is a non-sectarian fraternity which strives to develope scholarship, leadership, and character among its members. The Theta Ramach Chapter at Temple endeavors to serve its members and the school. As in the past, Alpha Omegans number among the academic leaders of the class of 1970 with many of our fraters at the helm of honor societies and other extracurricular organizations. This year Theta Ramach Chapter embarked on a campaign to build a new fraternity house and it appears now that a dream will become a realization before the end of this year. With property purchased at the corner of 15th and Allegheny, and building underway, we hope that this new house will bring the chapter even closer together. The facilities available at the new house will be the finest anywhere. Special thanks to the class of 1970 whose members worked hard and gave freely of their time and money to make this new building a reality. Although they will never use the facilities they will have the satisfaction of knowing that their efforts have helped those who will come after them. Best of luck to the graduates and may they follow the paths of success of those fraters who have gone before them. 231 DELTA SIGMA DELTA Delta Sigma Delta is the largest and oldest international dental fraternity in the world. It was founded at the University of Michigan on November 15, 1882. Chapters are located throughout the United States and several foreign countries. Delt boasts an active membership of over 30,000. Rho Rho Chapter of Delta Sigma Delta was founded at Temple in 1945. The objective of the fraternity is to keep the standards of dentistry by inculcating in the minds of dental students and practitioners a spirit of fraternal cooperation toward scientific, ethical and professional progress. We were very fortunate this year at Delt in selecting a group of men whom we feel will earn.' on the spirit and tradition of the fraternity. Social activities at Delt this year included a Halloween and Christmas party followed at the beginning of the second semester by our annual initiation banquet. Currently we are eagerly looking forward to the completion of the renovations in our newly purchased house on North Park Avenue. We are hoping the proximity of the house to the school will bring us even closer together as a fraternity. We would also like to take this opportunity to thank Dr. Jordan, our faculty advisor, and the graduate chapter for its moral and financial support. The “Psi Omega Smoker” was the highlight of the rush season and when the smoke had cleared we found ourselves with 30 new brothers. The smoker was enjoyed not only by students and faculty, but the “special guests” appeared to relish the crowd also. Football season was soon upon us and a large trophy was to sit on the mantle of the winning team. The battle lasted into the end of November with the Psi O’s fighting it out to a victorious ending for the second year in a row. The Trophy, of course, looks very proud as it sits on the mantle of Psi Omega. Next to it stands the trophy earned during the 1969 inter-university basketball championship in which Psi Omega went undefeated for the third year in a row. Soon the Christmas season had arrived and it was time for the annual Christmas party. After a trip to the Plaza Skating Rink, we arrived back at the house to find Santa Claus waiting. He passed out gifts to all present. The second semester began and the Psi Omegans had lots to look forward to. The initiation banquet in March, the spring formal in late April, and various open and closed mixers. In all it was a very successful year once again for Psi Omega and its fraters. The Eta Chapter would like to congratulate, and show their true pride in the election of Dr. Harold E. Lantz, National President of Psi Omega Fraternity. Also, a word of sincere thanks is extended to Dr. Charles Santange-lo, our Deputy Councelor and Dr. Vincent Lawlor our Assistant Deputy Councelor who have helped to guide Psi Omega the past year. Last but not least a thank you to our Grand Master Richard Squillaro, and to all the Fraters in the class of 1970. 233 SIGMA EPSILON DELTA Senior Brothers Robert Averbach Neil Bulick Marc Cooper Jack Dorn Jeffrey Eager Stanley Feldman Joel Fried Saul Ginsberg Steve Gitter Steve Gross Harry Klein Mark Kutcher Stanley l-cvin Sheldon Rabin Steve Reichel Mark Weinstein Harold Yaffe Sigma Epsilon Delta was established at the New York College of Dentistry in 1901. Since its inception, S.E.D. has actively contributed to the maintenance of high standards of the dental profession. Sigma Epsilon Delta has fostered and developed fraternal cooperation among the brotherhood and graduate chapter. Such cooperation has promoted and perpetuated worthwhile services to school and brotherhood. The brothers of S.E.D. have always extended a united effort in helping undergraduates in their studies. The major objective of the fraternity, during all related activities, has been to promote a high degree of excellence in the science and art of Dentistry. The Delta Chapter of Sigma Epsilon Delta Fraternity has completed another successful year under the leadership of its fine senior class. The social calender was started by our rush smoker and mixer, and the induction of a promising freshman class. The year was capped by our annual closing event at the Cherry Hill Inn. A fabulous time was had by all. Our athletic calender was filled with activities such as football, basketball, and inter-fraternity softball. The undergraduate chapter worked diligently in conjunction with our graduate chapter on the S.E.D. cleft palate clinic in Haifa, Israel. The class of 1970 looks back upon the past years at Temple and reflects upon many warm memories. These reflections are images of growing in experience, responsibility, knowledge, and of developing friendships. The education these men have received is the sum total of all their experiences at Temple. S.E.D. has been a unique and most valuable experience. The brotherhood has represented and supported in everyday life, the professional ideals set by its heritage. The graduating class hopes that the sentiments, traditions, and strong fraternal bonds which were instilled in us will be carried on and we wish our underclassmen the success and pleasure that we received as brothers of Sigma Epsilon Delta. 234 XI PS I PHI Xi Psi Phi, the second oldest dental fraternity in the United States, was founded at the University of Michigan on February 8,1889. Gamma Chapter was established at the Philadelphia Dental College five years later. Chapters nationally are dedicated to the principles of knowledge, friendship, and morality, that those who enter the profession of dentistry may carry with them a strong foundation upon which to build a successful professional life. The Gamma Chapter has experienced a successful year both socially and scholastically. Following a rapid recovery from the second annual summer “house warming”, ZIP is believed to be in the best shape ever. The academic year started off with a concentrated work effort which is evident to all who visit 1424 West Allegheny Avenue. Socially the list was headed by a not soon to be forgotten smoker, followed by the Halloween party, faculty-alumni cocktail party. Christmas-New Year party, and the senior farewell to hit the high spots. This year the emphasis was on brotherhood through fraternal interaction in both recreation and scholastic endeavors. Spirit and participation ran high for such activities as intramural football, house improvement sessions, and freshman help clinics. The year also saw evidence of a much appreciated increase in faculty-alumni interest. Gamma Chapter of Xi Psi Phi Dental Fraternity would like at this time to extend to the graduating seniors its thanks for the past four years of cooperation and true Friendship, and also its best wishes for continued happiness and success in the dental profession.
