0Dmh ' JtteAMpe Charles E. Kraus The class of 1959 is graduating at the same time that the Chiropody Society of Pennsylvania is celebrating its Golden Anniversary. On June 8th. 1909. Drs. James R. Rennie. Eugene S. Hanna. William R. Reedle, Adam M. Hall, and Arthur Sharpe, signed the incorporation petition of the Society. Later in the year the charter teas granted by Judge William C. Ferguson. In October 1914. a committee made application to the Rourd of Trustees of Temple University to establish a chiropody school in this institution. It was through the personal influence of President Russell H. Conwell that the Chiropody Department was founded in the fall of 1915. The equipment for the Chiropody clinic teas presented to the university by the Chiropody Society of Pennsylvania, and the members of the society volunteered their services for clinic duty. The state society has been responsible for the progress which the profession enjoys today. Its outstanding history should be an inspiration to our present graduates. The class of 1959 may look forward to the future with a full realization that chiropody is still the hope of a foot sore world. Charles K. Kraus .. D.S.C. dean

'Plt4idc tt ' 0ftte44€lQC Robert L. Johnson You are about to take up a life of professional service in a world that will demand of you more than it has of any other preceding generation. This is a world in which population is pyramiding so fast that colleges cannot keep up with the need for adequately trained practitioners in the healing arts. This is an era in which international perils and home-front exactions make health and efficiency a matter of paramount concern. This means you will be asked to give to your work not only more hours but more intense and concentrated effort. These, I am sure, you trill give gladly and generously. That is the kind of dedication toward which your education in chiropody has been pointed. Robert L. Johnson PRESIDENT
