Dedication MILLARD E. GLADFELTER President The Transition which changed the Pennsylvania School of Horticulture into Ambler Junior College, a new division of Temple University, was a challenging and rewarding one. We therefore feel that the yearbook of the class of I960 should be dedicated to one who played a great part in our change as well as underwent a transition himself. Millard E. Gladfclter was inaugurated as Temple University's new president in November, 1959. His transition was preceded by his outstanding record as an educator. President Gladfeltcr has won the complete confidence and support of Ambler students in the short time we have been a part of the University. President Millard E. Gladfelter, we hope to show by our support ol the University our thanks to you. In appreciation of all you have done for us, we hereby dedicate the Transitional, the yearbook of the class of 1960, to you. Appreciation WILLIAM HALE We cannot leave Ambler without giving our appreciation to one who has helped us greatly in the past two years. Mr. Hale's cheerfulness and facility for taking all crises in his stride will always be remembered by us. Sunshine’s endless tasks are matched by his great enthusiasm. Never turning down our requests, he has continuously gone out of his way to help us in many frantic situations. Mr. Hale, our gratitude is best expressed by a simple, but hearty, thank you. 4

JONATHAN W. FRENCH, JR. Director To each and every one of you in class of 1960 go my warmest wishes for happiness, success, and the courage you will need to lace those certain disappointments that lie ahead. You are the first coeducational class at Ambler, the first to have been Temple University students throughout your two years, and the first to live and study with students majoring in the liberal arts. You have all weathered these changes with equanimity and good grace, and you have consistently demonstrated a maturity of which you can be proud. May you look back upon Ambler with appreciation and affection as the years go by; and may the Lord bless and keep you! A DM INISTR A TION MRS. REED S. FISHER Dean of Women Dear Friends: We shall miss you. As you go out into a larger world, with an enlarged sense of the wonder of life, may the gentle grace of the opening flower and the wondrous joy of an Ambler spring be ever with you. 5
