TIGERS 1971 TEMPLE PUBLIC SCHOOLS TEMPLE, OKLAHOMA i TEMPLE SCHOOL BOARD LEONARD SMITH - President LINDEL GLASGOW - Member DON McGEE - Vice-President JOE KNOX - Member JACK JACKSON - Clerk In this age of Aquarius and the generation gap, there are many conflicts and problems. Some of them can be resolved while others need more planning. We at THS are indeed fortunate this year to have the capable school board and administration to provide the leadership that is always nec- essary to a school. Every decision made is made with the wel- fare of the students and teachers in mind. Without these peo- ple, the school could not function as a unit; therefore, we commend and recognize them as a most integral unit of our community. 7 ADMINISTRATION ARDENIA COX B.S. PAT DRISKILL B.S. The Student Council selection came as no surprise to anyone but Mr. Walker. His de- dication to his teaching, his leadership with the student council, and his devotion to the game of basketball provided the Council with more than enough reason and factual material for the choice. THS wishes him the best of luck next year as he and his family go to a new position, but we will miss him! Shelia Collier Freshman Shelia's friendliness with the students, and cooperation with her teachers, combined with her outstanding participation in school activities were the criteria used by the Student Council for selecting her as the STUDENT OF THE YEAR. She belongs to band, FHA, Pep Club, is the Vice-President of her class, was select- ed for the Oklahoma Honor Society, and received the awards of Perfect Attendance and Citizensliip from the freshman class. Shelia is indeed a perfect example of the type of quality that makes up the leader- ship of THS. 53 STUDENT OF THE YEAR OFFICE STAFF SENIORS Kay Lipscomb Gail James Patsy Brinlee JUNIORS Deborah Johnson Bertha Johnson Denna Mann Linda Toumbs Mable Johnson PRINCIPAL Bob Martin SECRETARIES Jean sue Imogene W alker Thompson Shelton Aurelia Knox CUSTODIANS COOKS 54 Carl Williams Jimmy Dowlen Mamie Barnes Cordie Brown Velma Mullens OFFICERS PEP CLUB MEMBERS OFFICERS: Sponsor: Virginia Bone President: Joyce McIntyre V. In this yearbook, we have tried to capture in word and picture the people of Temple Public Schools during the 1970-71 school year. Each time this book is opened may it reflect die true faces of the schools in Temple - the faces of administrators, teachers, and, most important, the faces of the students them- selves.
