Text from Pages 1 - 88 of the 1965 volume:

It has been said that the ending of one phase of our lives is only the beginning of a new and different phase in the life of each of us as an individual. FOREWORD TEMPLE SCHOOLS always hum with activities, and yet it is also made up of the quietness in the library, or a study hour in the classrooms. One can’t leave out the crowds in the halls, forward dash of students at the lunch hour, the after- noons and evenings spent in play practice, and the gay spirit and enthusiasm of the entire student body engaged in the big snake dance down town just before the big game with our tradition- al rival or for the championship. All of these elements that fill us with a sense of duty as well as personal pleasure are part of our daily lives at Temple. To prevent these cherished memories of our growth and our pleasure in growing from fading away, we have tried to put into this book those trying moments as well as the joyous events both in the classroom and in our activities. The road ahead holds something different for each of us, and it is our hope that in the years to come this book will make the shared events and trying moments come alive for you again. Temple, Oklahoma THE STAFF OF 1965 PRESENTS THE TIGER I DEDICATION IN APPRECIATION The annual staff of 1965 extends to Mrs. Mildred Kerr our sincere thanks for her unfailing interest in her students and her eagerness to help those who have come under her influence. Since 1954 Mrs. Kerr’s supervision has maintained the colorful and exciting representations of our school experiences which make the Tiger yearbook a treasured memento. Even though the yearbook was dedicated to her in 1956, we feel she deserves the honor once again for the long hours she has de- voted to her students and the yearbook. Sincerely, 2 Tiger Staff of 1965 AD UINfSTRAnON President — Vice President — Clerk— Member — Member— —Elmer Graham —Bill Bentley —Buford Durrett —Thad Gower —Robert Spurlock BOARD OF EDUCATION L. T. Next came the event that most Juniors and Seniors had been waiting for since the first of school. . .the Junior- Senior Banquet and Prom. The theme was Sentimental Journey. Pilot Phil welcomed the passengers on the jet that would take them around the world. It was a Sumptuous meal and exciting entertainment, followed by a won- derful evening of dancing. IN ORDER TO MAKE THE PROM POSSIBLE: The last Junior project was the Junior play, called The Mouse that Roared . The cast and stage crew consisted of most of the Junior class, and, although there was little experience among the cast, the play was a success, enter- tainment wise and financially for the Juniors. SENIOR- WrSUUGWTS We're Seniors! There is so much to do and so little time. It all happens so fast; and yet, you think graduation will never arrive, but it does.
