Dedication What all men are really after is some form,' or perhaps only some formula, of peace. - - Joseph Conrad The Tiger Staff meditated all fall, strivingto arrive at a suitable theme for this year's annual. We thought of all the usual people, places, and things - teachers, parents, students, school, state - to which yearbooks are traditionally dedicated. But none quite typified or captured the spirit of the year nineteen hundred and sixty-two. We will remember nineteen hundred and sixty-two as the year in which we saw: the first American launched into orbit around the earth, the world take numerous steps forward toward the peaceful use of many elements formerly used for destruction, and the same world take a great stride backward with the resumption of nuclear testing. Knowing the hopes and fears which exist in the minds of all students, all teachers, and all citizens concerning the future, we respectfully dedicate the 1962 TIGER to that first great dream of mankind - the dream for a real and lasting WORLD PEACE. Administration Superintendent of Schools L. T. CANARY SUPERINTENDENT'S MESSAGE: Congratulations to the faculty, to the student body, and to the board of education for a job well done. I sincerely feel that this has been a very successful school year for our school. Our accomplishments have been many and our rewards were justly received. However, we must not rest on our past accomplishments but must continue to strive for the better- ment of our school and community. This can be done through a spirit of cooperation such as we have had this past year. We are eagerly looking forward to the coming year with anticipation, enthusiasm, and confidence when we inaugu- rate a new schedule for the improvement of our curriculum, one that will create a better learning situation for our student body.
