Barbara Brown Returns Barbara displays a sheepskin rug presented her by Ran- furly District High School. After spending a year in New Zealand with Mr. and Mrs. P. D. Grant and their two daughters, Robyn and Diane, while attending Ranfurly District High School, Barbara reports: Aotearoa the Maoris called it-Land of the Long White Cloud-New Zealand. This was the country to which, through the American Field Service program, I was destined to travel. I spent the year with a lovely family in a small but very stimulating community. The friendships that I gained and the experiences that l had will always remain among my most cherished memories. Last January a year seemed like an eternity. I knew an apprehension I had never known before. But at the same time I had a feeling of expectant anticipation. Now a year has passed, and in that year any anticipations I may have had, have iong been dwarfed by the impressions of the fantastic array of experiences and memories that are in my past. I hope that I learned the value of people. l learned that New Zealanders love, iust as we love. They have their dislikes just as we have our dislikes. They laugh and they cry, just as humanity laughs and cries. I learned the truth of the AFS theme: lWalk together, talk together Oh ye peoples of the earth, Then and only then Shall ye have peace.'
