Have your ID ready. You can’t get in without your ID.” A secret conclave of some sort? No, it was just another Tempe High dance. But because they were for Tempe High stu- dents, ID’s or special guest passes were required for admit- tance. Held after most home foot- ball games and less often dur- ing the Spring semester, the dances in the gym featured a variety of DJ offerings. They were a place to go to unwind after a tough week in class. They were the hot spots on Friday nights for THS stu- dents. As Freshman Paul Bedwei said, “They were fun to go to.
