TELSTAR REGIONAL HIGH SCHOOL BETHEL MAINE ZODIAC To the class of ’86: This yearbook is a brief visual history of your life at Telstar. You live in a visual media time; the video tube is your constant companion. As you reflect upon your years of schooling, your memory will become visual thoughts flashing in your mind. The memory of graduation will quickly pass with parties, friends and families. Five, ten, or twenty years from now you or your children will bring this book out to see htw you once looked. Your children may even ask if you fulfilled your dreams, and, oh yes, you may even ask yourself “Whatever happened to With memories come dreams. Twenty years from now I hope that many of your dreams will have come to successful fulfillment. But don’t be surprised if you find reaching your dreams may not be as grand as you thought. Maybe the journey to the dream is the real excitement. Twenty years from now I hope you will have discovered that your education at Telstar has allowed you to meet most of the challenges in life. Twenty years from now look back at this visual record and remember that “Dreams are for the future, life is real, and you must experience it; success is in the eye of the beholder to make what he will of it.” Dewaine B. Craig Superintendent of Schools You have just completed four years of preparation for your life goals. You have every right to be proud of your achievements during these four years. However I hope that you do not consider graduation as the end of your achievements. In fact it is the beginning of many to come. In time you will come to realize that some of your most difficult struggles at Telstar are the most valuable to you. You can be proud that you forced yourself to keep working at that particularly difficult math or English or history task. It is part of your achievement. That which we acquire with the most difficulty we retain the longest; as those who have earned a fortune are usually more careful of it than are those who have inherited one. As you leave Telstar, I urge you to take with you the joy of accomplishment. Don’t be afraid to set difficult goals and to pursue them. Your achievements are just beginning. Theodore R.
