72 of the sophomo(es returned for the junior year. Being a small class did not bother us, for we really dug in and started working. The junior year was our biggest and most successful year. The sponsors for that year were Mr. Duane Dolezal and Mr. Robert Kreager. Chosen as president of the class was James Ludwig; Vice-President, Bud George; Secretary-Treasurer, James Hove. The re- presentatives to the student council were Maurice Mayfield, Barbara Noble, Gene Schieble, and Erlus Kleaving. The first important business of the year, was the ordering of class rings. That was important be- cause those rings were to represent the years we had spent in T. C. H. S. --all the memories; fun, work, and friendships. Next, we planned a Junior Carnival. All of us worked hard on that project to insure its success. The class had charge of the election of basketball queen. Early in the spring, we sponsored an Amateur Hour. It, too, was very successful. We were working very hard, and in May, the big event that really was important took place. The class planned a Junior-Senior Prom and Banquet. The prom was held at the Country Club, and the Banquet at the K. of C. After all that, we decided we needed a little relaxation, so we held our annual picnic at Lincoln City. Time had passed so fast. No one could believe that after another year of school we would be grad- uating. We thought of the time when we had wished we were Seniors. We had often wanted to be finish- ed with school, by then we didn't want the last year to pass to quickly. In September of 1952, 72 seniors returned, ready for work. At the first meeting, Mr. Dolezal and Mr. Thrasher were chosen as sponsors. President was James Ludwig; Vice-President, Jack Thomas; and Secretary-Treasurer, Jerry Hudson. Since our yearbook was a project which entailed a year of work, the staff was chosen immediately. They were Glenn Holpp, Editor-in-Chief and Associates Editors, Sue Sprinkle and Sharon Wills. They chose their own committees and immediately started to work. Then, came the Annual Magazine Sales Campaign. There was a great contest between the green and orange teams. The orange won, but without the green team, we never would have reached our quota of $2, 000. Total sales were $2,148.

if e niot Four years ago on the morning of September 16, 1949, 88 scared students entered Tell City High School to claim it as the mother of education for four years. At that time, we thought it would be the longest four years we ever spent, but now we feel that they were not long enough. As are most freshmen, we were faced with the problems of selecting our schedule and finding our way around. The seniors tried to sell us physical education books. Like the classes before us, we survi- ved that uncomfortable period when we were constantly being referred to as green . Mr. Lee called the first class meeting to order. Sponsors to guide us in our first year were Miss Adah Royal and Mr. Paul Silke. Class officers were Jack Thomas, Resident; Wanda Connor, Vice-President; Lois Ann Eger, Secretary-Treasurer. James Ludwig was chosen to serve on the Student Council. Being Freshmen, we were busy settling down to work and did not have much time for activities. However, after managing for a whole year to stay out of the way of upperclassmen, the class went on a picnic to Lincoln City. The picnic climaxed our first year in high school, and we looked forward to the next year when we would be sophomores. The school year of 1950-51 brought forth 78 sophomores. This year we ceased being green and started being silly , although we hardly thought we qualified for that term. We were better acquainted with the rules and regulations. Therefore, we were destined to be more active than we were our first year. At the first meeting, Miss Nancy Ahlf and Mr. Jack Jines were chosen as sponsors. The class select- ed Joe Hall as President. Lefty Howe as Vice-President, and Sandie Heitkemper as Secretary-Treasurer. Rita Peter, James Ludwig, and Bud George were the representatives to the Student Council. The traditional jackets of red and white were ordered early in the year. The class sponsored a dance at the K. of C., and in the spring, the annual picnic was held at Lin- coln City. The first two years had passed very quickly. A year of work lay ahead of us--a year when we would be upperclassmen.

The class sponsored the program for the Society for the Preservation and Encouragement of Barber Shop Quartet Singing in America, Inc. The money earned from ticket sales was to help finance our trip and the annual. Early in the spring, we were presented a prom and banquet by the junior class. We planned our trip, one of the highlights of our senior year. Of course, everyone enjoyed it very much. Then came class day and commencement. All of us, excited yet a little sad, received our diplomas, said our goodbyes, and bade farewell, as students to Tell City High School. Some of us would return, but never again to answer the ringin' of the bell. As a parting message we leave this one thought to those who follows us, The past theirs; the future
