Spirit Day Building Spirit The Student Council, once again, sponsored Spirit Day. This was the third consecutive year that it has been held. Through the week, there was decorating of windows and dress up days. Friday was competition day between the classes in the gym. Some of the events included the wheelbarrow race, ping pong, egg on a spoon race, and building a pyramid. The sophomore class took first place with the seniors coming in second, and the juniors taking third place. (Top Right) The sophomores are shown here winning the pyramid building competition in 15 seconds. (Middle Left) The seniors and juniors compete against each other in the inchworm race. (Above) Frank LaFond and Toni Reimer are winning this event for the junior class by making 48 words out of the word, “juxtaposition.” (Left) Sophomores, Gordon Grinnell and Lori White, are shown here trying to beat seniors. CAST: (Front) Victor Velasco (Sean Caaey), Mother (Linda cishen), delivery man (Jimmy O'Dell), Corie Bratter (Amber Warner). (Back) Telephone man (Tom Upaton), Director — Mrs. Carlene Zollner, Paul Bratter (Bob Wiescholek). Spring Play ‘Barefoot in the Park’ Mrs. Carlene Zollner directed another hit play, “Barefoot in the Park,” on March 12, and 13. Both nights had extremely good attendance. All actors put forth good performances both nights. Cast members, stage crew, make-up artists and set designers worked for two months perfecting every detail for the big nights. The play evolved around a newlywed couple who lived in New York City and were just starting their life together. With the help of an upstairs neighbor and a mother, they began to run into many problems. This year’s Drama award went to Bob Wiescholek. (Above) Paul finds it difficult to sleep when the broken skylight allows the snow to fall on him. (Top Left) Lori Washburn outlines Bob Wiescholek's eyes before a performance. (Below Left) Victor Velasco explains his hors d'oeuvre recipe. (Left) Disappointed about Paul's plans for the evening, Corie listens to his explanation. 17
