Homecoming Event Brings Week of Festivities The class of “82” sponsored this year’s Homecoming. The King Bob Wiescholek and Queen Susan George were chosen by the student body and faculty. They were announced on October 3, to reign over the Homecoming festivities. Throughout the fun and event-filled week, the various traditional events took place. On October 8, the cheerleaders sponsored the annual snake dance and bonfire where they held a pie eating contest for the Homecoming court. The sophomore attendants won the contest. The day that everyone had waited for was October 10. During the day, the pep rally was held in the gym. There was a legs contest for the varsity football players. The student body decided that Todd Sherwood’s legs were the best looking! Also during the pep rally, a marshmallow eating contest was held for all the classes. The seniors won that contest with Scott Waffle downing the marshmallows the fastest. The parade followed afterwards, traveling down Main Street, ending at the school. The senior girls battled the junior girls in a powder puff football game, with the juniors coming out on top 6 to 0. At the game, a half time show featured class floats, the king and queen, and their court. The junior class took first place in the float competition. The Indians lost a rough game to Camden-Frontier 43 to 3. Following the game, the king and queen were formally crowned at the dance by 1969-70 Homecoming King and Queen Andy and Nancy Palik. The theme of the dance was “Sailing.” 13
