TIM CARLSON SUSAN BURCHFIELD VALEDICTORIAN SALUTATORIAN In the class of 1977 there were eleven students who maintained a B or better throughout their high school careers. Tim Carlson proved to be top in the class being named valedictorian and Susan Burchfield, Salutatorian. The honor students help present the commencement program May 27. Sally Carlson and Diane Shank read the wills. Connie Baird explained the class motto. Robin Groholske and Teresa Reimer remembered the past with the class history. Sharon Mack, Carlene Kevwitch, and Joe Lindquist looked into the future with the class prophecy. Jeff Krumvede, as class president, introduced the class. 21

Seniors Many Events Before Graduation The seniors enjoyed iheir last year at THS by filling their last month with many happenings. Among them was the annual senior breakfast, May 4, and skip day, May 11. Other activities included a trip to Warren Dunes State Park on May 18 and a lock-in at the Y-Center in Battle Creek on May 22. SENIOR ADVISORS: Mr. Kevin McMullin and Miss Coleen Wendel. SENIOR OFFICERS: Jeff Krumvede, president: Susan Burchfield, vice-president; Denise Ray, treasurer: Sally Carlson, secretary.

Graduation Forty-Three Graduate The gym was filled with people on Friday, May 27; it was graduation night at Tekonsha High School. Forty-three students were about to receive their diplomas. Brenda Kelly began the program with the invocation. Class President Jeff Krumvede introduced the class. Salutatorian Susan Burchfield gave her words of advice. Connie Baird explained the class motto; Teresa Reimer and Robin Groholske read the class history. Next was the high school band providing music under the direction of Mr. Kevin McMullin. The class wills were read by Diane Shank and Sally Carlson, followed by the class prophecy that Sharon Mack, Carlene Kevwitch, and Joe Lindquist wrote. Then a memorial for Robert Johnson was given by Floyd Hinspeter and Russell Osborn. Tim Carlson then began his speech as valedictorian of the class. Several students were recognized by Principal, Dr. Joseph Serra, for awards they received throughout the year. Dennis Miller gave recognition of the class advisers, Miss Coleen Wendel and Mr. Kevin McMullin. Superintendent Mr. Roger Carlson presented the class and School Board president, Mr. Leroy Taylor, who gave out the hard earned diplomas. Steve Rann then finished the program with the benediction. Baccalaureate services were held May 22. Speakers at baccalaureate were Reverend William Ami-don, Father Joseph Thachet, Reverend George Van Norman, and Reverend John Cail. 22
