INDUSTRIAL ARTS HOME ECONOMICS Students Learn From Experience Mr. James Messacar, the head of the Industrial Arts Department teaches mechanical drawing, where students learn to make accurate drawings using mechanical equipment and drafting techniques. Also Mr. Messacar offers classes to seventh through ninth grades and various mini courses which include small engines, electronics and welding, where students learn the safe and correct way to use shop tools. Mrs. Rinette Tyckoski supervises the Home Economics Program. She helps students learn to be responsible and neat homemakers. Such classes offered are cooking, sewing and the basics of child care. Mrs. Tyckoski also teaches mini courses open to grades ten through twelve. The mini courses include men’s food, foreign foods, upholstery and home arts. 21

PH YSICALEDUCATION Students Develop Good Sportsmanship Physical education at THS is more than just a fun class. The teachers here at Tekonsha not only strive to develop physical fitness in the student, but also emphasize qualities of leadership and good sportsmanship . Mr. Larry Stout teaches boys' physical education at both junior and senior high levels. He also teaches the mini courses which include golf, volleyball, table tennis, badminton, shuffleboard, and tennis.
