Test tubes and triangles, theorems and theories is what the Math and Science Departments are made of. Mr. Robert Tyckoski is the head of the Mathematics Department. He teaches junior high math along with geometry and algebra II. Miss Coleen Wendel and Mr. Larry Stout both teach algebra I. The Science Department acquired a new staff member this year, Mr. Tony Bowling, a graduate of THS. He teaches biology, physics, general science, and advanced general science. Mr. Roger Maples teaches all junior high science classes along with introduction to agriculture. (Below Lefi) Eric Ciotta and Ted Gro-holske give a report in seventh grade science. (Below) Roger James. Alice Kelly, and Connie Spires examine a snake specimen in advanced general science class. (Bottom) Students look over their notes in physics class. 13

SOCIAL STUDIES ENGLISH The Growth of Man and His Language Discussing what has happened in the past, how the past reflects on the present and future, and how history repeats itself is a general idea of what is discussed in the social studies classes. The Social Studies Department gained a new instructor this year, Mr. William Koltz. Mr. Koltz teaches world and United States history, and senior economics. Who we are, where we came from and where we're going,” is the viewpoint Mr. Duane Richardson takes when he teaches his classes. Mr. Richardson, teaches senior government and junior high social studies courses. The English Department includes teachers Mr. Paul Sweet, Mr. Robert Currie, and Mrs. Carlene Zollner. Mr. Sweet's ninth and eighth grade classes include the study of grammar and writing of stories and themes. Mr. Robert Currie English classes include the reading of a novel and also a research paper. The speech class also performs acts in the Cabaret. Mrs. Carlene Zollner's seventh grade English classes studied creative writing and took a field trip to a TV studio. The students have worked with the video taping of commercials that they wrote themselves, and have also been reading and acting out plays. Mr. Paul Sweet supervises his class as a student becomes teacher for a day. 14
