Under the able tutoring of Coach Offerman several of the boys have developed a strong left arm and a powerful punch. Several bouts were planned with outside schools, including Pone Pine and Lancaster, which, because of lateness of the season, have been called off. JOE ERREA ,,,...,...,.....,,,..... 140 lbs. .KERN COUNTY TRACK MEET This meet was held at Taft, April 29, 1933. Tehachapi was represent- ed by four men and they did exceedingly well. James Purbaugh, our dash man, almost ran to a victory over Mayeda, the Bakersfield champion. Pete Olive took fourth place in the 660. Gordon Fraser and Eusevio Acedo deserve mention for their good work in the 100- yard dash, high jump and 880. VALLEY TRACK MEET The Valley Track Meet was held at Taft, May 6, 1933. Tehachapi entered only four men, Jose Narez in the 880, Robert Bronson in the foot- ball and discus throw. Pete Olive in the 660, and James Purbaugh in the 100- and 75-yard dashes. BASKETBALL is the one sport that the girls like best, and from the beginning of the season they have taken an active interest in it and enjoyed it very much. Although the girls had no competition with out- side teams this year much enjoyment was gathered from inter-class games. Of especial interest was the game between the Pioneer Girls and the newcomers, which was won by the newcomers by the overwhelming score of 26-0.
