E E e E 2 E 2 uitlhlic icuii!!! TIIE TDMAHAWK, l933 The Carnival XNIHEN? March 30. Where? T. V. U. H. S. Why? To have a good time and to raise money. What do you suppose Carnivals are for? Oh, gee! Test in English fifth period. Well, that fixes that. Fresh- man meeting fifth period for the Carnival. Can't be bothered with tests. Everybody help now, 'cause this is going to be good. Are the posters finished? We're short two guns for the shooting gallery. Get what is needed by tomorrow. It's the dead-line. In due course of time T. V. U. H. S. put on its carnival. Both faculty and students worked hard to make it a success. As one entered the carnival he found himself dangerously close to the duck pond, a child of the Juniors' brain for brainsb. Wary was he who passed by without trying his skill at lassoing a duck. No wonder the roulette wheel, Freshmen concession, did well. The love of chance is born in us, for who doesn't like to boast that his great- grandfather was a Forty-Niner! One of the sophomore concessions, egg throwing, was rather spattery, the idea being to hit the unfortunate victim with an egg of uncertain age. Fortunately the aim usually was rather sketchy and the eggs arrived off- center. The popularity of the shooting gallery showed that 'the' gav young blades of '33 like to prove their prowess with the nSh0OtlI1,-l1 Olfl,, as did the adventurers of stage-coach days. No wonder in these days of scarce money we tried 'to capture the elusive dollar by casting a ring over its sleek and shiny sides. Thus this game did its part to aid our shrunken treasury. ff XX 55 X - fwfr T? , i xi? q:x1xJm1x1nJn:n:n1n:n:n:n:n:m4 nxgnnpmpnalmlninangnnunnmpnaupnnnmpnnnmpnnpnpmunpnpmnxnxlnnlnzna F Y
