APPRECIATIUN THE editor wishes to voice his appreciation and gratitude for the hearty co-operation that was given by all persons connected with the Toma- hawk in making it a successful publication. Particularly gratifying were the steady support of Miss Marie Smith, our advisor, the illustrations by the art department, the untiring efforts of the staff, and the invaluable patronage of our advertisers. We also wish to extend our appreciation for their aid to Mr. T. J. Fussell of the Commercial Art, and Mr. Geo. R. Burris of the Tehachapi News. It was a three-act mystery play with all the parts well portrayed. The play featured a young girl, Anne Watkins, who has inherited a hotel. Upon arriving she finds it inhabited by a ghost and all the boarders leaving. After much persuasion from Alec Smart and Ted Lewis, vaudeville stars, some of the boarders remain, including an old maid, Miss Abigail Jones, and Abe Higgenbottom, a cripple. Soon after Anne arrives, a moving picture company applied for rooms. Billy Lamont, one of the producers, after learning of the ghost, sets up her movie machine behind a curtain on the steps and awaits The Ghost Parade. At the expected hour there is a great commotion throughout the house and Absalom Hawkes is knocked un- conscious. Through efforts of Billy and her camera the real ghost is discovered to be Abe Higgenbottom, a notorious criminal, seeking the famous jewels owned by Anne's grandfather. Mrs. Emery, director of the play, not only merits praise for its really excellent production, but for the selection of this particular play. - fvow web, J ,zgucfiflfsa 00 ,EQ fog T715 fl Rolfe, , fw ,rf if 'JA ,Lg 5, WM' LW'-Q, 5 X we Geoff SKYXN ' X Jxnxr ,J::so1.Jnpx:!.Jnnxsx.A Ll!-.llJxAn.J5IxlK.1x:u THI..TV THREE
