Mr. Spitzer, Gene Wallace. Tecumseh's Varsity T Club endeavors to promote an outstanding intramural and interscholastic athletic program. To help in the improvement of the football facilities, the Varsitv T sodded the new football field and proudly presented the Tecumseh Athletic Association with a football scoreboard. When Tecumseh Field was opened in the fall of 1961, the scoreboard kept spec- tators posted on time, score, yardline of play, and the team in possession of the ball. Varsity T mem- bers also donate their time to help keep the school's football, track, baseball or other athletic facilities in first-class condition. Medals were awarded by the Varsity T to individuals on lunch-hour intramural championship teams. As a money making project, members sold Tecumseh Arrow decals. All members of the Varsity T must be a recipient of a varsity letter in one of the school's interscholastic sports. Mr. Spitzer is the faculty advisor. Sports, Service and Sadie Hawkins All a Part of the GAA Year G.A.A. BOARD: Kathie Lay ton. Secretary'; Linda Myers, Vice-President; Pam Winter, Sandy Shade, Janis Armstrong, President; Janet Barnhart, Treasurer; and Gerry Kay Ziegenthaler. Strike three! You're out! Not in GAA. though. There's always another inning or activity in GAA. Participation in these activities add up to awards. The first year award is given to those girls who earn fifty points. Fifty-five points are required for the second year award and sixty for the third year award. Special awards, too, are given to worthy individual members for bowling, most points, best sport, posture contest, and foul shooting. Since GAA is the only club of this type at Tecumseh. it is very important to any girl interested in athletics. In November, G.A.A. girls sponsored a Sadie Haw- kins Dance . . . Mrs. Nice- waner gave valuable advice throughout the year . . . and during basketball season the junior G.A.A. girls added to the treasury by operating a coat check service for the fans.
