Sports, Service and Sadie Hawkins All a Part of the GAA Year G.A.A. BOARD: Kathie Lay ton. Secretary'; Linda Myers, Vice-President; Pam Winter, Sandy Shade, Janis Armstrong, President; Janet Barnhart, Treasurer; and Gerry Kay Ziegenthaler. Strike three! You're out! Not in GAA. though. There's always another inning or activity in GAA. Participation in these activities add up to awards. The first year award is given to those girls who earn fifty points. Fifty-five points are required for the second year award and sixty for the third year award. Special awards, too, are given to worthy individual members for bowling, most points, best sport, posture contest, and foul shooting. Since GAA is the only club of this type at Tecumseh. it is very important to any girl interested in athletics. In November, G.A.A. girls sponsored a Sadie Haw- kins Dance . . . Mrs. Nice- waner gave valuable advice throughout the year . . . and during basketball season the junior G.A.A. girls added to the treasury by operating a coat check service for the fans.

More School Spirit and Service to the School the Goals of Student Boosters A full year of encouraging school spirit and aiding the athletic department added up to a successful year for the Student Boosters, whose advisor was Miss Rosemary Hartman. During football season club members worked in the concession stand at Tecumseh Field and sold programs. Dur- ing the basketball season the members operated the concession stand at both the Tecumseh and Olive Branch Junior High games. After two of the home basketball games the club sponsored sock hops. At the pep rallies the Student Boosters enter- tained with clever skits. To instill more spirit during the basketball tournament, a Block T cheering section was organized, and Arrow pins were sold. BOOSTER CLUB OFFICERS: Judy Eben, Treasurer; Roberta Miralia, Secretary'; Marvin Pflaumer, President; Larry Reynolds, Vice-President. No matter what the sport, the Student Booster concession stands are always busy places. 65

When Tecumseh Field was opened in the fall of 1961, the scoreboard kept spec- tators posted on time, score, yardline of play, and the team in possession of the ball. Varsity T mem- bers also donate their time to help keep the school's football, track, baseball or other athletic facilities in first-class condition. Medals were awarded by the Varsity T to individuals on lunch-hour intramural championship teams. As a money making project, members sold Tecumseh Arrow decals.
