For example, eating authentic foreign dishes and sightseeing through pictures were among the best-remembered events of both language clubs. The Spanish Club had a fiesta featuring authen- tic Spanish and Mexican dishes. After eating, a blind- folded guest broke a pinata filled with candies. Later in the year the Latin Club held their annual Roman banquet, complete with slaves and exotic finger food. The policy of the two clubs toward membership, how- ever, is somewhat different. Mr. Turoff's Spanish Club is open to all past and present Spanish students. The membership of Mr. Henkle's Latin Club is composed of present Latin students only.
