THIRD ROW: Mr. Spitzer, Terry Johnson, Jerry Howell, Larry Happel, Raymond Colegrove, Richard Croner, Lowell McGlothin, Jim Mun- son, Eugene Wallace, Leigh Spargur. TRACK TEAM PERFORMS ON NEW FIELD The biggest news in track at Tecumseh during the 1961 season was the opening of the new track at Tecumseh Field. The team participated in nine meets, including three night meets. In their final outing of the season, the team placed seventh in the Mad River Valley League track meet held at Evans Stadium in Springfield. BASEBALL TEAM WINS LEAGUE CROWN Despite the cold and rainy weather which forced the cancellation and postponement of several base- ball games, the Tecumseh Arrows played a total of twenty games, of which eleven were victories. In league play, the team earned seven straight victories, which won them the Mad River Valley League Cham- pionship. In district play, the team defeated Brook- ville before bowing out to Urbana. Selecting a bat is John Hartke, Tecumseh's top pitcher.

During sunny or cloudy weather, the girls' hockey team was hard at partice. Under the able leadership of Mrs. Sharon Nicewaner, girls' physical education teacher, the girls' hockey team was victorious in all three of its regularly scheduled games.
