TRACK TEAM PERFORMS ON NEW FIELD The biggest news in track at Tecumseh during the 1961 season was the opening of the new track at Tecumseh Field. The team participated in nine meets, including three night meets. In their final outing of the season, the team placed seventh in the Mad River Valley League track meet held at Evans Stadium in Springfield. BASEBALL TEAM WINS LEAGUE CROWN Despite the cold and rainy weather which forced the cancellation and postponement of several base- ball games, the Tecumseh Arrows played a total of twenty games, of which eleven were victories. In league play, the team earned seven straight victories, which won them the Mad River Valley League Cham- pionship. In district play, the team defeated Brook- ville before bowing out to Urbana. Selecting a bat is John Hartke, Tecumseh's top pitcher.
