Hows of Rehearsal Make MOTHER IS A FRESHMAN a Success April 28 was the date set for the junior class play. Mother Is A Freshman. The light comedy revolved around Abigail Abbott, the widowed mother of a sopho- more college student. Abigail finds it necessary to re- turn to college on a special ' Abigail Fortitude scholar- ship in order to earn the money to keep her daughter at Pointer College. Problems arise when Abigail's daughter Susan and the other girls in her dorm find CAST— SEATED: Dick Ross, Kylli Kusma, Sharon Zeller, Peg Thomas, Doris Foster, Carole Edwards, Pam Eldredge, John Fogt. STANDING: Jo Hart- ley, Virgil Studebaker, Bill Lampert, Jerry Miller, Dale Kennedy, and Ruth Long. Not pictured: Bar- bara Breece. that the attractive Mrs. Abbott has become their rival for the affections of Professor Michaels, the handsome biology teacher. Moreover, the college dean disap- proves of Mrs. Abbott's having come to Pointer. How- ever, by the end of the third act all problems are solved, and a capacity crowd enthusiastically applauded the happy ending of Mrs. Abbott's freshman year. Speech and Drama Students Receive Recognition At the Honor Day Program Marvin Pflaumer (far left) and Mary Lou Har- mon received awards for outstanding ability in the fields of speech and drama.
