1987 88 fecumseh High School Chorus. The 1987-88 school year had a very successful turnout in high school chorus. There were 10 males and 21 females. Many members of the chorus were individually involved with singing. Sing... Sing a Song by Jamie Searcey Sing it. boys! On April 21 and 22. the chorus and swing choir attended district music contest in Sutton where the chorus received a good rating. The small groups consisted of: Mixed Quartet — Laura Weh-ling. Andy DeFreece. John Funkhouser. and Jamie Searcey (excellent): Boys Duet — Andy DeFreece and John Funkhouser (excellent): Mixed Trio — John Funkhouser. Jennene Shuey. and Jamie Searcey (excellent): Girls High Voice — Laura Wehling (good): Boys Medium Voice — John Funkhouser (excellent); Girls Medium Voice — Paula Driskell (fair): Girls Trio — Ellen Kuhl. Jamie Carson, and Nicole Stevens (good); Barbershop Quartet — Andy DeFreece. John Funkhouser. Tim Garris, and Ted Morrissey (good). We had one superior rating, which was a Mixed Duet by Jamie Searcey and John Funkhouser. The show choir performed at several different concerts. The show choir received a good rating at the contest in Sutton. Chorus Swing Cho

The Tecumseh High School concert hand and jazz hand each received a good (3) at the District music contest held in Sutton. Three students performed solos at the contest. hut Steve Defreece was I9S7-SS Tecumseh High School Band. Band and All That Jazz by Shawna Vrbka and Heather Philippi the only one from Tecumseh that received a superior (I) rating. The Tecumseh High School marching and concert hands were directed hy Scott Taylor. They performed at the fall. Christmas and spring concerts. The Band Boosters Soup Supperand Pawnee City Band Clinic were also attended. The marching and pep hands performed at all the home football, volleyball, and basketball games, and the Johnson County Fair. They also went to the Apple Jack Festival in Nebraska City. The Band held a car wash for the second year in a row to raise money for their next trip. The THS Jazz Band monkeying around. The hand officers?! Bhw harder. Nolle!
